Yeah but how many games are they going too to build up their loyalty points? Being on a waiting list means nothing if you're not building up your points, at least that's how it is/ was at Spurs.

Unless things have changed since I've been a ST holder, at Spurs you have to buy a particular membership that puts you on the ST waiting list. To then improve your chance of moving up that list you need to go games regularly and build up your loyalty points. Then when STs become available, those members with the most points will be given first priority to purchase one.

At LFC they closed the waiting list because they knew people were wasting their money paying to join it with no reasonable hope of actually getting anything from it.

Literally better odds of winning the lottery than getting a season ticket.

Just because your club has a poor way of doing it that doesn't mean others have.

Don't a large amount of your STH'S not even have them in their own name but the name of their relative who died 30 years ago?

The ground was full of tourists when I went in February. Maybe it's FSG that's the problem, not the supporters that have followed you for years.

When I checked for @Treble on the number of season tickets as a percentage of capacity Liverpool's was relatively low at ~50%. Presumably they have set it low so they have more one-off tickets available but it does seem strange when they say they had/have 70000 members on a waiting list to not release another 5-10000 as season tickets.

Its a bollocks argument that its impossible to get tickets for games - there are always season ticket holders selling them or can get additional tickets regardless of the team.

You had to pay to join the waiting list? ...what sort of two bit outfit are they running? ... no wonder they could only win the EPL title in an asterisk season <doh>

Same at Arsenal, you have to buy membership, and there is a ranking within that too. All of which is geared towards obtaining a ST. Arsenal have got Cat A, B & C games with a sliding scale and then EL games (if we qualify) You can get some cheap tickets around £17 for Europa League cup games, but if you want to go to the NLD or against any of the big clubs then the tickets are between £65-£95, ****ing eye watering prices really. And it don't matter what your colours are, we are all getting mugged off as fans.

Last time I went to the Emirates back in 2015. I think it was £65 for the ticket and because it was a 12pm KO I had to get a flight from Newquay up to London. Throw in travelcard, lunch, few beers etc and I think I done about £250 in a day for that game.

**** me... how much did you have to pay for a place on the Boscastle Broomstick?

No pun intended bro

It is near impossible at Liverpool.

A friend of mine who is a season ticket holder is usually my avenue into a few games each season. However since I moved away its few and far between now.

The games he can't get to now he sells for about £200. I can't help but think he lost out on my deal of taking him and his partner out for dinner every now and then.

What sort of scumbag fan makes money off their own ffs.

Proper ****s trick that. Fine selling it at face value but not at a profit.

A mate at work gives his ticket away if he can't make it. His view is that "somebody may as well use it". He never asks for money and you know what, pretty much everyone buys him a bottle of whiskey or brings him 30 quid for it without asking!

This makes him a bit of a **** like.

If I can’t make it, I sell mine on Stubhub but for face value or less. I’m not ripping off fellow Blues ffs.

The only exception I’ve made is the rare occasion I couldn’t make the derby, like this season, when I know fine well the tickets will be snapped up by a Kopite, so I bang them on at the maximum of £125 a piece and they sell to a Norwegian within minutes.

We had a couple of spares for the play off final once after a mate and his brother lost their old man literally on the eve of the match (against Derby) ... took the tickets to Wembley with us and sold them at face value to a fellow Leicester fan and his missus in a pub in Wembley... they had tried several touts around the tube station who were quoting extortionate amounts and were beginning to think they might have to give it up ... bloke absolutely insisted giving us a tenner extra for each tickets despite us saying no need ... and bought a round for the 8 of us to boot ... so hot dogs (bonus) on the way in ...<cheers>
