You were offered season tickets though. Imagine if you supported a popular club and were told your daughters had no chance of getting a season ticket in their lifetime no matter what.
Stadium fans are the ones crying "VAR is ruining my celebration" I'm not bothered about going the game I just think stadium fans should grow up and appreciate their position
You improve your chances of getting a season ticket by becoming a member and going to games regularly. Patience will eventually be rewarded. I was a member for 5 or 6 years and had been to practically every home game (league/ cup/ Europe) before being offered my first season ticket. Declined it for 3 years running though as they were only available in stands I didn't wanna sit in. In my 8th/ 9th year I finally got offered a ticket in the stand I wanted to sit and this season completes my 5th as a season ticket holder at Spurs.
That's because you have never felt the euphoria of a spontaneous celebration, all your's come after the event when confirmed in the live txt reports.
I used to buy a program at every home game just to collect the tokens off the back page so i would qualify for cup tickets. Some numpty who has never even been to a game will never understand this kind of thing.
I hope Brentford go up now. They play good football and have some decent players. Benrahma looks the business.
Most of them are probably dead, the same thing happened at OT but when we made the last extensions it turned out the wauting list was nearly halved because many had passed on.
Watkins caught my eye early season and I’ve watched them a fair few times this year and he’s looks a quality striker to me. I agree btw, I think they’d bring something new, Fulham and their neutrals stand, can **** clean off.
Yeah but how many games are they going too to build up their loyalty points? Being on a waiting list means nothing if you're not building up your points, at least that's how it is/ was at Spurs. Unless things have changed since I've been a ST holder, at Spurs you have to buy a particular membership that puts you on the ST waiting list. To then improve your chance of moving up that list you need to go games regularly and build up your loyalty points. Then when STs become available, those members with the most points will be given first priority to purchase one.
Yeah Watkins is quality. I've probably bored the Spurs board to death for years by saying how I've wanted him at Spurs since his Exeter days. Was clear back then he was destined for bigger and better things. Brentford's got a really good scouting network for a club of their size, it's allowed them to punch above their weight the last few years.
I'm so far removed from all of this living down here. I've been to a few games at the Emirates with Cym from our board, but only because he can get tickets through his supporters club. When I was last a ST holder it was when I was a junior Gunner back in the 80's and early 90's. I think the membership for the whole season was something like £25 and it included 5 cup games too. Totally different world now. I shudder to think how much dough you need to chuck at a club to get yourself into a position to be offered a ST.
If I remember rightly, the membership I needed to buy was about £35-£40 a year. You got a set amount of points a season for that and then you built up further points for every game you went. On average league tickets were about £30-£40 and a bit more for the big games, cups about £15 and Europa was about £15-£20 so I reckon I spent around a grand or just under a season, dependent on how far we got in cups/ Europe. Prices have really hiked at Spurs in recent years though and I think individual matches are between £50-£70 in the league, CL tickets were the same, be interesting what they charge for Europa next season. It's an absolute joke though and something I'm really pissed with at the club, highest prices in the league and it's not as if we're getting our money's worth. My ST is £1010 and I don't get any complimentary cup games added onto that either, which Spurs used to do a few years back. I've said if they hike prices up much more I'll pack it in, I'm lucky that I can afford to go but it's more about the principal for me.
Members are on the waiting list...took 14 years to get the offer...don't stop me going if I have the money though
Same at Arsenal, you have to buy membership, and there is a ranking within that too. All of which is geared towards obtaining a ST. Arsenal have got Cat A, B & C games with a sliding scale and then EL games (if we qualify) You can get some cheap tickets around £17 for Europa League cup games, but if you want to go to the NLD or against any of the big clubs then the tickets are between £65-£95, ****ing eye watering prices really. And it don't matter what your colours are, we are all getting mugged off as fans. Last time I went to the Emirates back in 2015. I think it was £65 for the ticket and because it was a 12pm KO I had to get a flight from Newquay up to London. Throw in travelcard, lunch, few beers etc and I think I done about £250 in a day for that game.
