Can’t agree. Put it this way, we’ve had a 6 game winning streak and closed the gap from 10 points to 8! How many other sides will put that kind of run together. They won’t drop enough points for anyone to get near them. They are just finding a way so it’s definitely their trophy. I’ll be hoping Liverpool win games against the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs to give us a fighting chance of a top 4 finish. **** the title, it’s decided already. Speaking as a supporter of the team in second!

well that's fine , but like I say it's happened before with less games to go on many occasions , so my argument remains.

We need 100 points to win the league. If Leicester can do that then fair enough, best team wins. I certainly think you will be up there or there abouts

Why do you need 100 points? City were six points clear of you with 95 last season. They got 100 the season before, but no one else came close to them at any point.

Yes for LFC this isn't just a "good run" - our results over the last 38 games is 101 points.

The key question is how many more times will Atkinson be involved in LFC games this season?

BTW Leicester's 38 game form has them in 6th place with Man Utd and Arsenal just above them. But since they are now [HASHTAG]#joke[/HASHTAG] teams a top 4 finish is definitely realistic. Chelsea, Leicester and Spurs 3-way for 2 places IMO.

Leicester’s 38 game form is meaningless. This season is 14 games old.

It's not meaningless, it's a true account of what actually happened in the last 38 games.

Leicester got about 60 points from the last 38 games, so to finish this season on about 90 points to challenge for the title would mean a 150% increase.

If you look at the 38 game form you'll also understand why Poch got fired despite getting to a CL final.

It may not be meaningless but it doesn't take into account all aspects like a change of manager or players bought and sold and player form. If a team goes out and buys the best player in the world in every position then the previous seasons stats do not reflect the current season.

Leicester have improved and they are our closest challengers at the moment Boxing Day may well be very interesting.

What was their improvement yr on yr when they won the title?

Sit down ffs

City won the league with 100 points and then 98 points last year. Our 97 points wasnt and isnt good enough. To win the league we need 100 points to stand any chance

It may not be the same this year though teams may simply lose more, we're on course for a high points finish but lose a couple and it all goes out the window. Each season is different and a lower point tally can win it this year. Could be higher aswell who knows.

Last season is gone mate. Forgotten, unless you’re a City fan, or a Liverpool fan still bitter at missing out on the title. Extrapolate all the statistics that you want, it won’t affect this season’s league placings at all.

Poch got fired because of Spurs’ poor start to this season btw; and because he’d taken that squad as far as he could, something both he and the players appeared to recognise.

That 100 points has only ever been done once though. It could be a hell of a long time before it’s ever done again.

Here’s a confident double prediction for you - Liverpool will win the league, but they won’t reach 100 points.

Poch's start to this season was the same form as his end to last season

BTW 38 game form includes 14 games from this season and 24 from last season

... it is meaningless if some of those games were under a different manager with different tactics and philosophy ...
