Kepa needs dropping for the next few games for that. No matter how he performed you simply can't ignore your manager's instructions like that.

Reactions: BobbyD and Spurlock
Take your points, but he needs at the very least to be suspended by the club. There has to be values upheld and respecting the managers call is one of them.

Would be interesting to know the laws of the game around this. If a players is instructed to leave the pitch, i.e substitution, injury etc and refuses, can the ref send him off ?

There's no way David Luiz can properly control his shot when he runs in at that speed to take a penalty.

I doubt there is anything in the rules, it has to be about respect, plus it brought the game into disrepute for a few moments, maybe the football governing bodies can hold the club, player or manager to account for that somehow.

I was a bit disappointed with what appeared the lack of response from the bench, to support Sarri in this situation.

Yeah it was an absolute **** show from Kepa, massive lack of respect for his manager and Caballero

Shame is that I thought Sarri got the tactics absolutely spot on. Chelsea were a match for Man City and could easily have won that game, Hazard possible MOTM.

It would have been utterly awesome if Sarri had subbed off an outfield player for Willy and Kepa was left just sitting to one side watching the penalty shoot out. Caballero could definately take Kepa in a fight and I suspect would have enjoyed putting him in his place. It'd have been like an old school WWF tag into the ring.

No player should ever be bigger than the manager. Sarri would have been justified in publicly roasting the insolent little ****er.

He didn't even need to do that. Although Clough would have publically torn strips off him the likes of Ferguson and (my teams manager) Benitez would have more likely just said it was something they would be dealing with in such a tone that everyone hearing it would know they wouldn't want to be that player.

Neutrals don't give a flying **** how two teams who used to win things played out a 0-0 draw.
More aimed at the people who took 2 hours out of their life to watch the game and a few moments to comment on it during the match. I understand that you chose not to watch it so can't give an opinion but thanks for your input nonetheless.

PS United won two trophies the season before last so we still win things occasionally.

I didn’t think the ref was particularly good or bad for either team. Did you?
