its illegal to make a streaming site, but not illegal to watch the stream.
I was using a VPN but as with most technology it occasionally fails, I imagine that if SKY really wanted to they could get round a VPN anyway. After that incident I wont be taking the risk. I used KODI while it was legal but just use Netflix now and pay for Sky.
It is illegal to stream, but its not illegal for someone else (ie You) to watch the stream

Nope it changed and as much as they are probably not going to go after people streaming they can do. Sky have the money and if they wanted to make an example and take a group of people to court then they could well do and it would now be in their favour. There was a change to European Law a few months back.

I like Netflix and it's cheap so don't really need anything more than that, I'll go to the cinema now and then if there a film I really want to watch.
