I'm sure they were merely joshing.
Was a big fan of Harry and am on record of my displeasure at his sacking and even more over the appointment of AVB. But 'Poochy' is the way forward for us.
This season was always going to be tough for us using Wembley and have said top 6 would be a good finish. Hope we can settle into our new stadium quick and crack on with the good progress we've made over the last few seasons.
Do you think the 'Spuds' are going to be able to maintain top 4 finishes in the future? Or fall back to mid table?[/QUOTE]
I think they
don't establish themselves as a top 4 club in the next few seasons, then they inevitably will fall back into mid table. It's ****-or-bust for your club in the next few seasons, because you haven't had a better squad or a better coach since Keith Burkinshaw.
If you don't cement your position at the top of the tree before this squad gets broken up and this coach leaves, then you will be back to the odd cup win and Europa League run.
Being a Saints fan of a certain vintage, I have a visceral resentment of Spurs that I can't really explain, but which probably goes back to the 1977/78 season when we both got promoted to the 1st division. That said, I sincerely hope you do gatecrash the top table on a long term basis.
