A lot is being made of us losing nine months ago. We played with ten men for over an hour, lost 1-0 to a penalty, had more shots and their keeper got man of the match.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching the football we played last last night. Breaking a team apart that sat back was a joy and I thought the combination of Mount, Sterling and Sancho worked really well. The squad rotation has been nigh on perfect.
Viera at Palace, won't go well my kids was there doing the training for his A licence and I was watching. He didn't seem arsed about it and spent a lot of time chatting to people other than getting involved.
Vieira is a ****ing legend, but his management career so far has been utter gash. Palace have taken a massive risk appointing him. Hope he does will like, but I reckon they'll bomb next season.
As much as it grieves me to say it, for me Shaw as been our player of the tournament so far. Very consistent performances.
Was a bit worried about Pickford in the last 20 mins, he seemed to completely lose his ****. Maybe he knew he was on for a record clean sheet thing and wanted it.
ultimately a goal is going to be blamed on him. So far he hasn’t been too shabby. One little misjudgment to help out his defence is his only blot. Not many have had a bad game.
If i had to pick a weak link at the moment it would be Walker but in fairness that is only because of the last game. Very shaky.
Given Pickford seems to have a thing with "getting one over" my club he'd be an easy target for me but I can't fault the lad in an England top. Not just this tournament either, Southgate has every reason to trust him 100%, he's been a great keeper for him. For all those thinking he's got an error in him, you're ignoring the decade+ of Carson, Green, Hart, etc making for more errors than I've seen from Pickford - he's got plenty of credit in the bank.
