Doesn't get much more professional than that. Great to see Kane back in form and I thought Sterling & Shaw were both excellent again. Denmark for a place in the final. Bring it on.
What I love about this, is not just the quality of the subs we make, but the quality of the subs still left unused. I still remember the days of Linekar and Gazza, but I can never remember a bench like we have now. If I was the Danes, the Italians or Spanish, I'd be thinking shhite, we got to play these and I have NEVER felt like that about any England side in depth. Anyway, tomorrow back down to earth and the lads will need to start preparing again. Good luck Southgate, oh and @Spurlock as from tomorrow, Kane is shhite again, right!
Yeah and what a squad he's got. When you look at the bench he has like for like replacements plus players that can change a game either by formation or pure talent. Amazing situation to be in.
k He spoke about how good the squad spirit is too, paying attention to the players who aren't making the squad but are still pushing the others.
We haven't come up against a quality side yet, and got as bit lucky with the way the draw fell, but we're certainly capable of winning it. I just hope Southgate has learned how to change a game to our advantage if we're losing.
I've been fairly consistent, my major concerns are still Pickford, and what Southgate will do if things don;t look like they're going our way. That said, looking at the attacking options he's taken with him, and that he's made sure got some game time, maybe there's no need to worry about that part.
We can add taking Maguire and Henderson to the list of his unpopular decisions which have proved to be correct.
If someone had told me after Iceland that Southgate would take us to consecutive semis (and perhaps more) i'd have laughed my **** off. What a guy. Absolutely delighted for him.
