Should have ended with the end of last season.
Things like this become stale and just normal, the meaning gets lost/forgotten if carried on too long.
Half the Newcastle players in our first game didn't do it either, got a mention by the BBC because they're apparently the watchdogs for this sorta thing.

A little perspective required. I'm not the greatest authority on football by any stretch. However, Rodriguez appears to me to be a very good player. As far as Thiago is concerned, there can't be any doubt as to the status he has achieved, judging by comments I've read from those more knowledgeable than me on these matters. From what I saw on Sunday (against 10 men), he looked like he'd always played in the prem.
That may be the case, but he is a world super star, with infinite money and media attention. Someone in his position is still sending the message, but in a more outlandish way than taking a knee at kick off.
