Brilliant game that with a couple of cracking goals, think you won the replay too. Just looked it up n saw he got the last minute equaliser, surprised I remembered that.
@Libby Was just looking through that Gills squad that drew against Bournemouth Gazza - went to your lot Lawrence - came from Palace Frampton - ex Wall Jackman - decent player with plenty of pace Martin - went to Championship Wall Payne - went on to captain Posh Charlie Lee (& Whelpdale) - one of my fav players, always got stuck in Keds Fook knows how we went so downhill
Only really remember Kedwell, Jackman and Charlie Lee out of that lot really. Didn't go to many around that time though, was more championship relegation year and a year or two after. One day I'll try rack my brains n list the games I've been to n see if you can remember any of them.
According to the local rag, the following 7 were kept, however Cheek has now gone to Bromley? Ebou Adams, Nathan Ashmore, Michael Cheek, Jack King, Sean Shields, Corey Whitely and Lawrie Wilson
I assume they have dumped their wage bill then. Really disappointed with Ebbsfleet, they offered some true competition to my lot in Kent football.
Was at a family gathering yesterday and was chatting to my wife's cousin whose part of the Ebbsfleet supporters trust. He said that the wage bill was £30k a week and the average gates around 1500, so it's really not hard to see that was not sustainable. The good doctor has managed to shave £500,000 off the running costs since he started to trim the squad? Also went on to say that they are not one of the teams looking to be relegated and the playing budget for next year will still be healthy (certainly in the top 10 in the league). He still seems optimistic so it will be interesting how it pans out.
What!? He only appeals for the penalty after he realises he lost the ball, when else would he appeal for it, before the tackle
They were trying to buy promotion on budgets that didn't mirror as you suggest their attendances. They were taking players such as Keds, Jack Payne and Myles Weston, those three alone probably blew the budget, not even counting Drury's wages. Add to that the new stand, where the hell did that money come from - well we all know it was built on the Universal/Paramount dream...in the dreary locks of Gravesend....ok Ebbsfleet renamed after the days of Gravesend & Northfleet. £££ Five Billion
Maidstone and Dover have always been hopeful Can't remember now, didn't the Stones go bust last time they tried that one on us - MFI i always remember that place
