Agreed...he did it for several clubs and his country at a time when players would get away with kicking **** out of him and the pitches and medical facilities and medical knowledge were way way worse.
Not digging at Messi but think it was harder back then due to the things mentioned.

Messi has also been surrounded by fantastic players throughout his career (except maybe at international level where he's not achieved anything).

Messi is probably the most gifted ever but it's not an individual sport and others have carried a bigger influence imo.

Trevor Litchfield: I support a lower league club, fighting for survival in League 1 but I always want to see English clubs do well in Europe. Support your team for where they are, not where they could be. Both home teams look well set so far.

Daniel Montez: Arsenal really need a third and fourth goal if possible five but have to to be more serious at the back. Come on guys this could be the year.
(Tweet from a delusional Gooner, to BBC Football Live)

Pixie, is that you?

I actually posted the wrong tweet, before!

This is the tweet I meant to post and applaud...

"Zak: It is embarassing seeing all these Chelsea fans whining and slating the manager. He is on course for a top 4 and a possible trophy. That's why nobody takes some of these fans seriously anymore. They are embarassing to Chelsea."

"I'm not sure how Alexandre Lacazette missed either of them. The flag stayed down, Lacazette had two bites at the cherry and missed both of them."
(Lee Dixon, Arsenal legend, ripping the piss, Arsenal v Valentia)

<laugh>

Donald: We've seen how ordinary Chelsea will be if Hazard leaves Chelsea. Let's enjoy the few sure games he has this season.
(Tweet to BBC Football Live)

Ouch!

"Unai Emery doesn't trust Mesut Ozil in certain situations and when you have a player like that, who you don't trust, then you can't really build a team round him. When you go to places away from home in the cold mid-winter, does he fancy playing there? We've seen in the past, at times, no. Does he perform in the big, big games? I'm not so sure."
(Lee Dixon, BBC Football Live commentary)

Wow!

Lee Dixon is is having a right old rant about Popeye!

The keeper had a mare fore arsenals 2nd and 3rd goals...good recovery by the goons though...pretty much in the final as they'll score away.
