The year of the upsets. Liverpool win the league Newcastle beat Liverpool to win the cc Palace beat city to win the FA cup Spurs beat Utd to win the Europa Can betis complete the set against the Chavs? I sure do hope so.
Anywhere but second. It's the worst way to go up by far and if we are to go up then I'd like to do so as champions or failing that via Wembley. Absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be aiming to challenge for the title. We've never won the second tier and not won any division since the third division south 65 years ago. It's pathetic
You did us a favour, we're much better equipped this year to have a go at it # # clutching at Fosse type straws here
Hardly copium when I held this view for a good 3/4 years before relegation. We got better after Poch and all those players left too. Ultimately the PL is largely dull for a club of our size unless you've got money to throw it. It's not like it's a novelty for us like say a Brentford as we've only spent 8 years outside of it during my lifetime. Throw in no VAR, a couple of derbies, and a big bunch of new grounds and it's a no brainer where I'd rather be. No new grounds this season for the first time as an adult. 11+ potentials next season
So lose the play off final next year and go up as champions with a century the one after? Sold! (Well depending on who we lose to)
I see Brum fans are slightly getting carried away with things, 68% of bets so far taken in from bookies for next season, is for them to go up automatically. Weird odds, 15/1 that they'll be playing in Europe, by 27/28 season.
Be interesting to see how them and Wrexham get on next season as both have quite a bit of cash behind them.
We hold the record for the most second tier titles - ahead of Citeh by 1 - wouldn't say no to another
I believe they start with a clean slate too with ffp, as it didn't involve them in league 1, that only applies from next season. There's a lot going on at Brum, big announcement coming mid June, about the ground expansion plans and investment on the playing side. I think Wrexham will be a little more controlled in their spending, as the ground is small, 13000 ish,
It was firmly tongue in cheek. As its proved the last 2 seasons, the gap is getting bigger each year, this one being particularly bad, the bottom 3 virtually relegated by the end of February isn't great, even the also rans are miles ahead of who's coming up. What we have to hope for to stand any chance, is something like Wolves not reinvesting the Cunha money, they don't seem to spend anywhere near what they take in, in transfers, there's rumours 2 of their other better players want out too, even though he does seem a good manager they appointed. Brentford, losing Wissa and Mbeumo the latter seems certain to go, talk of Frank wanting a new challenge, that could just make them one to fall down in the pack. It will certainly be the 3 coming up and hopefully a couple of others dropping down to give us any chance, and if we do stay up, then it will most likely be the same the following season, with us being the one the newbies hope to catch.
I think we can put Utd into the gooners category of players who leave and win things elsewhere now yeh lads? I hope that's a dewberry and not a ***
Almost certainly bollocks but there's rumours that the Saudi boxing bloke wants to buy a southern club with us and Millwall being the two mentioned. Be hilarious to see a Saudi billionaire buy Millwall
