They’ve backed themselves into this stupid corner of not wanting to overrule the ref so now you get calls like that which are wrong but not absolute howlers not given and VAR just looks even ****ter.
I don’t mind it not being a pen but that and the one just now will be given next week somewhere, probably after four minutes of VAR checks.
Agreed - but can't be too sympathetic as we need AN Other to finish with Saints and Ipswich below us - and Wolves look like prime candidates - particularly if, as rumoured, they don't have funds to invest in that squad in January - unlike Ruud who, apparently has been assured of money to spend ....
Both painfully boring places to go to if we manage to scrape to safety in this league. Hopefully Palace get some injuries and keep doing nothing so you both survive.
They just been discussing how good Pep actually is Really good debate Success Vs Greatness People arguing someone like T Frank being better Not saying I agree - but between football fans it’s a good debate Don’t think you can argue against Pep’s success but whether he is the greatest Manager I think is an easy argument against but I do find it fascinating
Brian Clough - - pains me to say it as a fan of the only East Midlands 'big club' (all relative) that he didn't manage ... and yes, Peter Taylor was a factor - but what was acheived at Derby and then Forest was nothing short of remarkable ... not only did he (they) transform two pretty mundane (when he took over) second division clubs into First division Champions - with limited financial backing - but they both played cracking, attacking, free-flowing football that was incredibly entertaining...
I think sometimes people need to be reminded that Brian Clough and Peter Taylor won two European cups with Nottingham Forest. Insane.
Brian Clough is defo in there for me too These managers get forgotten about It’s all part of the media hype around certain Managers The argument for someone like Clough or in the debate on the radio with T Frank was simply that Pep has never built a squad - Barca - inherited one of the greatest squads ever Bayern - inherited the treble Winners City - inherited title winning squad I have to be careful in here - I am not saying he is not a good manager - he is very good at what he does - he is very close to the most successful I would imagine but is that the same as the greatest (I think Carlo is right up there too ) so many others have built teams - whilst Clough is up there Sir Matt Busby built two squads as I said for me it was fascinating
