He'll lose his job and rightly so as it's unprofessional to make comments like that.

I do think fans make more of this kind of thing than is realistic though. If a referee is professional then who gives a **** whether they like your club or not? Do all doctors like their patients or all solicitors like the clients they are being paid to represent? Nope. They're doing a job to the best of their ability.

Fans like to claim corruption and favouratism as it suits the childish "woe is me" understanding of the world - like pupil who get told off by a teacher "because they hate me" rather than because of their behaviour - when in reality referees just make mistakes as they're human beings. Do big clubs get more decisions? Probably yes, but there's a variety of reasons for that and referee corruption i don't think is one of them.

ps. Does anyone actually disagree with anything the guy said?

Reality - refs are human

Further - there has always been a bias towards the big teams - remember us getting a pen at Old Trafford in the Martin O'Neil era and the commentator saying how many matches it had been since an away team had last been awarded one there ... it was seasons ... but the refs were definitely intimidated by SAF... not on the same level perhaps but Klopp, Wenger and Mourinho would all have had refs thinking they were ****s...

... but do I think any top refs start a match with intentional bias ... no I don't.

There's subconscious bias though. Human nature.

I'm not saying there's no chance of a referee making a decision one way or another based on biased, I'm just saying I don't believe it's anywhere near the deal that some try and make it out.

The big club bias thing makes sense: they are the games referees will feel the most pressure in (so more likely to make mistakes and there'll be more of a light shone on the mistakes they do make), the big clubs tend to create more chances so are asking more questions of the referee to get penalties and free-kicks whilst the opposition are likely making more tackles and defending so more questions will be being asked around yellow and red cards, add to all of that the screaming crowds being larger and the post-match analysis being more done to death (if a club like Leyton Orent got a freakish amount of decisions in their favour then do you think anyone would notice?).

As far as I can tell most people who complain about PGMOL and referee bias are just trying to rationalise their club not doing as well as they think it should. They're a convenient scape-goat.

The world doesn’t need Liverpool fans in Nigeria trawling through every throw-in the bloke gave for a decade to cry corruption while ignoring any soft calls in their favour.

In what world has this not always been the case? Salah could knife a player to death and the liverpool fans would be yelling for the other guy get sent off for bleeding.

.this decision is another prem title stolen from us, one of many I might add

didn't you finish off a million points behind last year?

I'd probably blame your fans for forcing klopp to annouce he was leaving so the players downed tools at the end of the season
