I don't remember the name of the pub when I went to Wolves, I do remember going up a few steps between some big white columns outside, think it was a big pub. Had no grief in there, but I was in a biggish group at the time with some Northerners.

Think I know the place you mean but can't remember the name of it, it was a regular bar in the day but became a bit of a nightclub kind of place at night. Cinderella's ??
If it's the place, it's the most pissed I've ever been, came out and 2 of my mates were arguing with the bouncers, I lent up a taxi waiting for them, taxi drove off, I didn't realise and ended up on my arse, days before mobile phones, missus said call when you're done and ill pick you up, lived about 30 minutes away at the time, so pissed couldn't remember our phone number, ended up going back to a mates who lived close by and his Mrs drove me home at about 4am, lost Christmas Eve

I don't remember any under pass, but I remember getting lost trying to find the pub we were all meeting at, Whatever road it was on, we went the wrong side of it, the road seemed to loop round like a horseshoe....there were coppers as we got closer to the ground and I felt a bit safer then, but when we were lost, it was like don't look lost and just keep going, well fooking dodgy areas.

Was a grassy knoll - we'd driven there but linked up with a load that had come by train ... police filtered us down a path which went to the ground but with embankments and the underpass ... just knew it would be fun on the return journey ... <laugh>

The hill back up to the coach park was always fun, the fighting often bought the traffic to a standstill.
I remember when I was about 9, my sister took me to a Wolves v Citeh game, Citeh bought a few on motor scooters, probably about 20 of them, as they were riding down the road past the ground a lad jumped out the crowd and stabbed one of the pillions in the back, right in front of where we were walking.

Because of where it's situated parking is not great, and whats there you have to pay for,the best places I can think of thats free are Park Rd, West Park, about a 20 minute walk but you'd need to be there pretty early as it fills up quickly.
There's a Desi pub(same company that own The Vine, West Brom) it's called The Desi Yew Tree on Pool Street, about 20/25 minute walk, there is some street parking there, but again think you'd need to be early as it yellow lines down one side.
I'd stay out the town centre as there's some real dicks around, especially Weatherspoons, Moon Under The Water. The Royal Oak in Chapel Ash is a good pub if you Park at West Park but no idea what its like match days. The Great Western on Sun Street is a great boozer too, exceptional ales but very limited street parking

The Great Western does the hot pork rolls, right?

Pretty sure that's the one. Sells Batham ales ( @Sweats ), tiled floors and that.

At long last found it via google, I think it was this place, that did become a night club...

Yes, that's the one, Bathams is beautiful stuff.
The Vine, known locally (Stourbridge) as the Bull and Bladder is where they brew it, the place is a midlands legend, on a pub crawl known as the Delph run, proper black country boozers
