Originally there were rules about paying players being illegal, didn't stop the likes of Liverpool doing it though. And City were the big club in Manchester until United got a sugar daddy. Funny how fans who go on about their clubs 'history' forget some of it.

Weren't Everton the biggest club in Liverpool pre Shankly too? I hope none of that Liverpool success was gained using owner investment.

Not sure why people seem to be directly conflating this with the 115 charges.

It's entirely different and relating to a recent rule change around related parties sponsorship and not FFP as a whole.

Good luck to them I say. Anything which upsets the istoree clubs is fine by me.

They conflate it with the 115 charges because it's Man City, if it was Liverpool then Sucky's account wouldn't even exist, because he's spent his whole life on the topic. To be honest mate I don't even take the time to understand the rules, I've openly admitted that a few times, why, because it's just a load of old bolloxs to me - especially when I see lower league clubs constantly going into administration. One day the SKY bubble will biurst and 115 charges will be the least of everyones worries. Hopefully Man City will have another clean sweep next season purely for the bantz. As for the istoree clubs, spot on.

It's not so much that it's illegal, but there are rules in place in football to try and make it competitive..

<laugh> ... would they be the same rules that mean only 4 or 5 clubs (already up there amongst the richest) can carry on spending what they like with impunity? ... that'll make football more competitive for sure ... well at least between those 4 or 5 <doh>

On the nail Libster ... the biggest clubs in this country and, indeed, in the world, were built on the back of zero spending constraints during their evolution ... with the success that followed came the commercial revenues, bigger stadiums and the Legions of plastics ...

my understanding is it's 3 charges for historically back-dating 3 sponsorship deals to the tune of around 30m around 2014, and 112 charges relating to stalling on supplying documents.

Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning eh?

Nobody - I said breakfast but didn't mention cereal ... once again your assumptive arrogance is quite breathtaking ... my point is proven ... you should probably move to Milton Keynes, there are loads of those types there (generalisation and stereotyping intended <laugh>) ...

Morning everyone btw, I don't really care about all this bolloxs, I'm interested to see the legal outcome though of the action against the premier league. I always said it would only be a matter of time before someone sues them, although I never expected it to be over this lol

think an independent regulator is what’s needed. The ‘big six’ will have a big say in how the league is regulated and will only be in their favour, so very much like it is now with masters.

Everton broke the rules and so did Forest, and were punish without any framework in place, City, Chelsea, well I don’t really know what to say.

I think for something that is our national game, clearly governing themselves don't work, if the rules are supposedly being breached - surely the idea of rules is so you don't have to penalise teams. Everyone knows football has been corrupt for longer than I care to remember, but everyone wants to get precious over a team that has started doing better than the so called big six. I wonder how many backhanders in brown envelopes have been delivered over the past decades, yet because City do it so openly the floodgates of tears have opened. If my club went under tomorrow not so much as an eyelid would be blinked, because in the real world no one gives a shhite, the only people that give a shhite are those no longer cleaning up the silverware, tough luck suck it up brothers, we in the lower leagues have had to, long before you even cared. Just because someone does cheating better than you now, 1992 when the vintage became bottled for the elite lol. I talk a lot of bolloxs sometimes, so now seemed a good moment to continue that trend.

Oh and its Newcastle who wrote a letter supporting citys case

What a surprise

The two state backed teams<laugh>

**** en both out if they dont like the rules, go play in abbi dabbi innit

Bye bye<laugh>

Anyone know WTF is going on with Chelsea's infringement, anyway?
I am too lazy to look it all up.
From my understanding, City's **** is being dragged out because they have pled not guilty and are taking it to court, where as Chelsea volunteered all the evidence to the PL and snitched on themselves, and pled guilty from day one, so WTF is our punishment taking so long?
Why were Forest and Everton given immediate punishments yet there is not a word that we have even been charged, let alone facing punishment.
Am I missing something here?
