I think Howe is coming to the end of his time at Newcastle and should probably be let go before it turns ugly next season.

We just aren't tactically aware enough to compete, now that others have figured out our play we are being ripped to shreds.

That being said, if you bring in someone like Mourinho you need to be aware of the ****ing market and be willing to bring in some decent players. Not Philips and Hall.

Our win % isn't improving as injuries have decreased either.

Its starting to have a whiff of Chris Hughton about it.

Love what he's done for us and achieved but same repeated mistakes costing us at end of games.

Do the ownership pull the plug under the guise of "Time to move to the next level"?

    That's inevitable.
I can't see a world where Eddie Howe is taking you into CL finals and competing for PL titles.
Question is, Is Jose "the next level" right now?

We had a similar situation when we dumped Ranieri for Jose back in the day, and it turned out to be the right move. But that was 2004 Jose, 2024 Jose is a different kettle of fish.
Jose will always have a place in my heart, but his time in Spain really did a number on him and he hasnt been the same since. Even after winning a league title with us on his return, you could tell he was a different person and a different manager. And since especially United he has looked "Meh" as ****

Think Mourinho would probably get you a league cup but don't see him being a long term success.

Can see fans kicking off about style of play too after a season or so. When you're the richest club in the world who wants to watch ****e negative football?

He needs a break and needs to check out other styles of management, the issue is when you've won everything - how do you go into someone's training ground and just say "hey, I'd like to observe a bit."

I mean, Howe did that at Atletico but can Jose Mourinho do that? I doubt it.

Then, you have the backroom staff he's lost over the years. I don't think he's replaced them with like for like talent, it's slowly been getting worse.

Then, subject 3 a bit like Moyes after Utd, he's not picking the right jobs. He never should have went to Spurs, although he could have won them a league cup and likely would have done so they bottled that. Then he never really should have went to Roma, theyve been on a spiral before he came in, they spent way to much money before and now can't compete. He was never going to transform them into league winners.

I think his assessment is right, when he goes somewhere, the expectations become league winners and it's not logical.

Ancelotti was considered finished when he was at Napoli and Everton. Now he's at Madrid.

Its often the jobs more so than the managers skill.

All that said, will he be a rip roaring success at Newcastle? I dunno, what's success at Newcastle? We aren't even close to a league title are we, or FA Cup for that matter.

If he gets CL and a cup, lol, he's our best manager for 80+ years.

Tammy's at Roma, where Jose just was. Had a decent first season but a **** second season, hasnt featured this season so far, think he had a bad ACL injury in pre season.

You are right to a point. Carlo was never gonna win the league with Everton, nor was Jose with Spurs or Roma, but the point is Jose didnt really improve Spurs or Roma, or take them up a notch, which he especially should have done with Roma, given the money they spent, and the fact that he had 2 whole seasons there to get things done.
Hopefully Poch wont follow him down the same road in a years time!

We were ****e then too, in his last season, the Leicester season.
Finished 10th in Jose's final season and spent the first two thirds of the season fearing relegation.
As **** as we are now, at least we have not been anywhere near the relegation places! <laugh>

    Huh

Roma spent 9m and sold players worth up to 75m last season.

There's 20 teams in Serie A and Roma are 18th on the transfer market in terms of spend

They won a trophy first season and got to a Europa League final last season and haven't spent a penny really.

So they have, quite rightfully, stagnated.

That's on Roma, not the manager. They have one of the most injury prone forwards in Europe
