Would you say that Chelsea have bottled their title defence?

Leicester did it, of course, but that was to be expected, since they fluked their title win; but there are no excuses for Chelsea, I would have thought?

And has anyone seen CFC - 100 more years of Butt-hurt?

Haha if we were in from the running maybe.

You boys are consistent in doing well when the pressure is off though. Come crunch time though i know it's not the spuds horse I would be backing.

As you say even little old Leicester have managed to win something before the spuds juggernaut has!

If Spurs can repeat what they've done these last few weeks they'll have their FA Cup trophy. When the rest of us talk about them bottling it when it absolutely matters this is the sort of tests we mean, dealing first with the United busparquet at home and then potentially similar again from Chelsea

Agreed.

Hm.

All I am hearing are excuses from you not to answer my question truthfully.

The fact is, whether you like it or not (and you clearly do not), Spurs are not expect to win anything. Indeed, this season, mot of the pundits discounted anything from Spurs. Whether that is due to the fact that we are playing at Wembley (remember all that early-on bollocks about the Wembley hoodoo?), or because the arrogant assumption always is that Spurs won't finish top 4, the fact remains that there was no expectation on Spurs to get anything from this season.

Only when Spurs buck the pundit's trends do we suddenly hear this bollocks about "Poch has to win something to be considered a success."

No, he doesn't.

To get CL footy in three successive seasons would be a massive success for us.

What the pundits should be concentrating on is finding answers to the question: "Why are Arsenal and Chavs so ****e?" and "How long will their decline last?"

We’ve had a good run against them, and needed to win today.

We’ve been poor in 2018, and they are better team and deserve to finish above us as do City and Pool. United are dreadful but grind out results.

Oh, dear!

What an abject post!

So I make it that the "pundits" gave Spurs a 14/160
probability of finishing in the top 4 come May, and
Chelsky 39/160. Or effectively, Chelsky were
considered three times more likely to finish in
the top 4 than Spurs are.

Not really...if we didn't get a result yesterday it would have been labelled a bottle job of sorts by the knowledgable masses on here by finding some obscure angle to look at it from. Just like we were supposed to be the ones who bottled it to Lesta when in reality it was the likes of United, Chelsea, Chavs, City bottling it from the off.

Plus don't be harsh on United, they are the Empire so if they fail to win the FA cup..that's a bit of a bottle job really when all is taken into consideration.

We would be walking the league every season if we spent the money they do. I had us down for 6th since we are the 6th biggest spenders....looks like I was wrong.

A lot of us were wrong, Bruv.

That's the thing about us Yids. We're all realistic about our chances. If anything, we put ourselves down. There's nothing, at all, delusional about us, which is why I think pundits have so much respect for our club and us fans.

But why are you wrong ??

Do Spurs have such a good manager/squad now that
the spending excesses of the usual suspects are not
enough to save them from finishing outside the top 4 ??

Or is the pressure of 6 into 4 now become so great
that some of those managers/players are (to coin a
phrase) ... "bottling it" ??

This is how I see it, Bruv...

If United don't win the FA Cup.... and if City don't win the CL... and if Chavs and Arsenal don't finish top 4...

All can be counted as bottle jobs.

I reckon someone should do a poll-post to see which club the lads think is the more likely to bottle it, this year.

Arsenal and Chavs are clear favourites, in my opinion.

So many butthurt spurs fans. Theres a reason you boys are tagged with the bottle jobs tag. It's a consistent trend you boys keep it where you manage to throw it all away when you are ahead.

Funny how that tag isn't given to any of the big teams who win stuff.

<laugh>, yea the clubs who win stuff all bottling their trophies. Nice one HIAG <laugh>

what trophy should we have won that we haven't?

Okay, taking out the tribal nature and we're going serious (and you're my homie) i would say you should have beaten Leicester to the league 2 years ago when all the top clubs were in turmoil.

Likewise, you should have won the FA cup last year when you were in top tip form (as Poch famously does). This year you have to be favourites for the FA cup too looking at form of players and quality of players wise.
