Yeah that would be an even more controversial idea. I think it’s fine how it is but the officials need more help and training
The biggest thing is that the rules need to be clearer.
Particularly around handball, offside and fouling - everything basically.
Amad had his shirt pulled as he ran in on goal yesterday. The common view - including G.Neville - was that it was it wasn’t particularly forceful (Amad wasn’t pulled to the ground) and was therefore something a defender was entitled to get away with.
How do you enforce that consistently? Why is a defender allowed to pull back an attacker by his shirt and if he is, by whatever de minimis rule makes it acceptable, where is the line drawn and by whom? And how can this ever be enforced consistently as it is obviously so subjective?

They probably can't afford them :emoticon-0100-smile
Seriously, it makes sense although I would still prefer no VAR at all. Electronics for lines ok but the rest is opinion anyway. Offside, Wenger is right for me 'clear daylight'.
The financial aspect would certainly rule out a few of them, but it would be more of a vocation, only starting when their playing career contracts come to a natural end. Many ex-pros don't want to go into management or punditry.

Hence my comment about from alternative leagues.
Yes they could certainly be accused of bias, but at least those connections would be known in advance - unlike now where it is all in the shadows....
Not even sure it's in the shadows

There's certainly pics of Michael Oliver wearing a Newcastle kit, for example, which resurfaced when he made sure Romero was suspended for our match with them

Mike Dean's even more blatant, given he was caught on camera in the stands the last time Tranmere were at Wembley

It wasn’t a penalty or a red card.

I’m not disputing refs are crap, they are and make far too many mistakes. But people seem to make out like they favour certain teams when they don’t.
Oh come on, we all know if that was Romero pulling back Salah, the referee will be blowing for a penalty and sending off Cuti, we`ve seen it endless times before, certain clubs get the benefit of doubt, others don`t, it`s as simple as that.

It’s as simple as that to you as you’re certain there is an agenda.

Not everybody thinks the same as you

Yeah but this is common knowledge and they aren’t allowed to ref games involving those clubs.

Unless the ref is a robot, of course you’re gonna have people who support certain clubs.

We're naive to the extreme if we don't think several players have been on the phone to their agents for months trying to secure a summer move.

It is to be expected given how this season has gone, irrespective of our status next season.

The only thing not calculated is that many players seem to be labouring under the illusion that we'll miss them.
