It wasn’t a penalty or a red card.Another one with paranoia writes....
Just watched MOTD and they didn't analyse the VanD incident on Richarlison. So come on PGMOL, please explain why us and Palace have had players sent off and a penalty awarded for similar things. I say similar, because if anything VanD's was worse.
So someone hanging onto your shoulder and neck to stop you running it is not a foul?It wasn’t a penalty or a red card.
I’m not disputing refs are crap, they are and make far too many mistakes. But people seem to make out like they favour certain teams when they don’t.

Well it is apparently when Danso does it.
Bot not when Van Dyke does it.
I am not at all convinced by your argument King.
I agree it's probably incompetence rather than corruption nevertheless it affects the results of football matches.
It's a contentious thing to say but I quite like Richarlison. Utter little s*** to play against...At the heart of it all was Richarlison, every touch jeered by Liverpool fans because of his previous Everton connections, but a constant menace as he gave Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez a torrid time.
Richarlison had already forced several saves from Brazil team-mate Alisson before finally striking gold in the 90th minute, after Randal Kolo Muani had shrugged off Van Dijk's feeble challenge and Andrew Robertson faltered.
He turned away after silencing the taunts, cupping his ear to The Kop, who were stunned into silence after his sixth Premier League goal versus Liverpool.
It was his fifth at Anfield. Only Andrew Cole, with eight, has more away goals against Liverpool in the competition.

I am sure he would be fine in Italy or Spain but the PL is probably too aggressive for him. We need a commanding goalkeeper. Speculation but if the goalkeepers had been switched yesterday we could have won that 3 - 0.Just seen their goal again. Sorry but Vicario should be doing much better with that...
I agree the incompetence affects the results but it has benefited Spurs in the past as well as cost them.
If the officials were corrupt they had the chance to give Liverpool two penalties today.
Also Vicario got away with a decision

I think you are far too generous with your comments. The standards have literally fallen off a cliff in recent years..They also missed two other obvious corners for Liverpool (plus two for us).
The long and short of it is the standard of officiating is abysmal.
It's the inconsistency that gets you down. I'd tend to agree that the VdV on Richarlison isn't a matter of corruption and shouldn't be given as a foul - but as others have pointed out, the same offences, often with less contact, are given. Danso was called for an almost identical offence - although that raised the old conundrum of 'it's a foul everywhere else on the pitch but not in the box'.It wasn’t a penalty or a red card.

Don't underestimate the contribution that Solanke made too. He was very strong, mobile and helped create the spaces for Richarlison. At the heart of it all was Richarlison, every touch jeered by Liverpool fans because of his previous Everton connections, but a constant menace as he gave Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez a torrid time.

There is a difference between saying officials are corrupt and that they favour the biggest teams. Mistakes happen more often when people are stressed....which do you think is more stressful...giving a penalty in front of the Kop end at Anfield or giving a penalty to Liverpool at Bournemouth? So which one will more often get the wrong decision?I agree the incompetence affects the results but it has benefited Spurs in the past as well as cost them.

The concept of the penalty area isn't helping the officials in my view. If a penalty was reserved for a dogso and ordinary free kicks were given for fouls otherwise there would be a lot less pressure on the ref. It's the inconsistency that gets you down. The standard of officiating in the PL is very poor and inconsistent compared to the the Continent. The obvious reliance on VAR being a key factor. Don't see it improving in the foreseeable future....
The ref cam showing that Peter Bankes was looking right at Gabriel's dive a few weeks ago (as well as the likes of Declan Rice reacting exactly like a player knowing they had conceded an equaliser) yet still came to the decision there was a foul by RKM bears this outThere is a difference between saying officials are corrupt and that they favour the biggest teams. There are also plenty of decisions where the officials can't see what has happened...your photo illustrates that perfectly...the ball is completely obscured by Vicario's hand and the goal posts from where the assistant ref is standing.
The mistakes that should be criticised are those where something that didn't happen is penalised. Two good examples of that in the last two free kicks against us which resulted in goals. In neither case did a foul occur but the ref gave one anyway. That is real incompetence.
If they go back to just enforcing the rules to the best of their ability I think it would help. The ref cam showing that Peter Bankes was looking right at Gabriel's dive a few weeks ago (as well as the likes of Declan Rice reacting exactly like a player knowing they had conceded an equaliser) yet still came to the decision there was a foul by RKM bears this out
Would he have been so keen to deny an equaliser if that was at Old Trafford or Anfield, to name two obvious stadiums? Would he ****
Now, why refs aren't afraid to give bad call after bad call at our stadium is a question worth asking...though we know the answer is we won't have pundits banging on about it for days after the fact
