I'm sure those clubs (and most others who are now in our situation) have a salary cap of some sort and rely on shrewd cheap / lower league signings rather than splashing out vast sums and wages on players in decline (no names mentioned).It's pretty impressive how we have been in the Premiership, say...3 or 4 seasons in the last 6 or 7, yet we seem to be in so much more trouble than Burton Albion or Bristol City. Clubs that never get the Premiership money.
Lambert gave us a rather large clue in how to do exactly this, ffs, so why did the board not apply similar criteria to later managers?
