I'm sure those clubs (and most others who are now in our situation) have a salary cap of some sort and rely on shrewd cheap / lower league signings rather than splashing out vast sums and wages on players in decline (no names mentioned). Lambert gave us a rather large clue in how to do exactly this, ffs, so why did the board not apply similar criteria to later managers? Rather than adopt this policy, the club has now been forced into accepting it as the only way to survive. Ass a sorry ol' do, bors
More meat on the bones from last night's AGM. It ain't good reading http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...5301615?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich-city-agm-2017-report-1-5301613
Lol, goal of the month competition. Josh's took a wicked deflection and the 3rd is from the under 23's - talk about scraping the barrel!
Either one of them is telling bare-faced lies or D + M have done a complete U-turn since that tedious, narrow minded article published in the Times 18 months ago. She said then, "If a potential investor rings, we don't even pick the phone up" Ed Balls said yesterday: “We aren’t in any way close-minded at all about new investment. If somebody came along who believed in this club and its values, and then wanted to invest in this football club then we would engage with them without any hesitation." So who's the lying toad in all this - makes no odds, they're both secure in the ivory tower of the boardroom http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...5301648?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it
Why are the club using the LGBTQ flag on their Twitter ? Too much politicizing in football, If somebody likes bum sex or pretending to be a woman then fill your boots but it has nothing to do with football. The whole idea is people from different backgrounds go to the game to support Norwich and wear the colours ,of course gay trans lesbians queers etc etc are welcome it's 2017 . I don't want to have to explain to my 8 year old what a gay canary is .
Delia has always said she would only consider selling to a genuine NCFC fan that would have the best interests of the club at heart. With regard to the article in the Times 18 months ago, you should remember that the Times is from the same stable as the Sun, so believe them at your peril!
If we can decent money for Murphy then I can see no point keeping hold of him. Maddison is another issue entirely.
That was my take too Dave. I don't think DS & MWJ have ever said there's no option for an outside investor, in fact I think they've been been quite proactive about looking for suitable buyers. Thankfully though they've always said it needs to be the right buyer, not some random who'll pull the soul out of the place and rename it the Tampax stadium. I'd love to see some new investment but i'd be much happier knowing that our billionaire benefactor had some prior link to the club. Maybe that's wishful thinking. Does Norfolk produce billionaires?
How are "Key Passes" defined then? Leading to goal scoring chances? Can't be assists. Even leading to goal scoring chances seems unlikely. We have about 2 shots a game.
It's one of the reasons I hate stats - I guess it's passes which beat the opposition defence and lead to 'shot on goal', not a 'shot on target'. I think in most games (perhaps with the exception of Wolves), we've managed double figures 'shots on goal' (many of which are blocked), but you're absolutely right re the number of 'shots on target'!!!
So, we MAY see Abrahams/Fonkeu in or around the first team squad in the near future - "Farke revealed Tristan Abrahams had caught his eye at development level, but the German admits it is a big step up for the teenage frontman or Under-23s team-mate Pierre Fonkeu." I was sitting just below DF on Sunday and both players impressed with the latter getting MotM!!! I entirely agree that it would be a foolish risk to have too many inexperienced players on the pitch at the same time. I thought this excerpt from Connor Southwell in today's MFW was particularly relevant - "This is a rut, yes, but no crisis whereby every Dick, Tom and Harry needs to vacant their executive positions. This is Norwich moving backwards temporarily to then move forwards in a stronger fashion. The style of play is un-finalised. Farke keeps reinforcing the parallel of his ‘brand’ of football with Thomas Tuchel and anybody who watched Dortmund last season will conclude their play doesn’t resemble that of City’s at present." It's interesting to read how he comments on the demise of QPR, Leyton Orient and Portsmouth after external investment and only briefly mentions Wolvwa, with no mention of Leicester!!! A Key Pass is one that leads to the recipient taking a shot. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the pass or quality of the shot.
