People seem to be only concerned with the taxation of the workers in the UK. I think we can all agree the real issues are the massive corporations who make full use of taxation loopholes. They need to be addressed and that money needs to be reinvested in our economy. A Tory government won't fix this.
No one will ever fix it. Start taxing them and they'll just **** off to another country. Would need the entire world to work in unison but the wealthy control things so couldn't ever happen anyway.
As I said the other day, neither party give a **** about the working Man!
I get your point but I do think it can be done better than currently. Manufacturing etc can definitely move for financial gains but services delivered in this country (Google/FB/Amazon etc) want to continue operating here so will pay more if made to. The real problem is how to set the rules up to enforce it as the richest businesses have the smartest accountants.

On the other side, if we did manage to get these companies to pay more, who would actually pay it? Would the companies take it out if their profits or would they simply increase what they charge to cover the difference? Obviously it would be the latter and therefore another thing the working man as to pay for
I Agree. I agree with the general principle of Corporations should pay more tax but People who say this do not understand the complexity of tax law or realise that we are in competition with other nations. Sure, Labour will apply a transaction tax on the online, offshore companies like Amazon......guess who will pay that!
.

At least we arent as bad as america. Cities actual bud to get big companies to come to them. Bribing the likes of PayPal, Amazon, Google and co to fight to get them in their state. Absolutely backwards

There is no way amazon, Starbucks etc just up and leave if we raise the tax or close the loopholes. There are other countries who have high tax for those companies and they haven't left there.
The notion that if tax goes up, they will leave Is a fallacy. You think Starbucks would cease trading in the UK if they paid tax? Not a chance.

Indications are that Conservatives have taken a early lead but Labour are expected to start fighting back around lunch time...
