You said our present system only works when one party has a clear majority, I gave you an example when a coalition worked absolutely fine, so your analysis is flawed.

It didn't work fine for the Lib-Dem voters who were sold down the river by a leader who is now unemployed!
What they actually offered as a replacement was so complicated that nobody understood it, and was not real PR. It was intended to be that way.
It was the preferred method chosen by the Lib Dems as part of an agreement to adjust the electoral boundaries. The Tories honoured their part but the Lib Dems renaged on theirs when the PR scheme was overwhelmingly rejected.
The whole of the Lib Dem senior team agreed to the coalition, Clegg was just the fall guy, it couldn't happen to a nicer chap.

The Parliamentary L-D Party got what they deserved. The rank and file members told them what would happen... and it did. All too obvious now that in power sharing the PLDP managed to reign in some of the more lunatic excesses of the tories which, given that they are now in cahoots with even more right wing lunatics, is an utter tragedy for the whole country.The whole of the Lib Dem senior team agreed to the coalition, Clegg was just the fall guy, it couldn't happen to a nicer chap.

Clegg got bedazzled by the thought of power, he acknowledges it, which is the raison d'etre of politicians... sadly he fell for the wrong sort of power
I think the LibDems were sensible to form a coalition. It is only with hindsight it did not work out so well for them

I am sure we can all find a clip or a headline to stereotype those we dont like....
If you read Corbyn's policies he really cares for people and a better world. Is that something to be sneered at?
So it's OK to call people who you disagree with racist or a Nazi?

I can well understand the frustration of those who thought that everything was tied up, and the Brexit they wanted to see would go through with ease. The voters said otherwise resulting in the confusion that now exists. There is a clear majority of posters here who see all the pitfalls ahead, but no consensus I would guess on how to get out of it. There has been a good honest debate exploring different viewpoints, something I have watched and has given me food for thought. Slogans or soundbites call them what you will were used throughout the election campaign and were shown up on here to be meaningless. Because there are not more right wing people here prepared to debate in a constructive way, is hardly the fault of this forum.

I must say I have not myself called anyone on here a racist or Nazi..... and w_y you obviously feel strongly about this because when you first left you IMO interpreted what people had said as a stigmatisation of you or your view... and yet you are not slow yourself in posting quite inflammatory postings....
I think look more closely and question what you see...let me or others know what we have done and we can discuss it.. and of course better not to do it yourself....
After a recent debate when I was away I tried to restart the etiquette debate and no one responded.
It is OK to have fun and banter, we all enjoyed that in the past, but of course if people find what is said to them offensive then lets look at it.
Plus there ARE people out there who are racists, nazis, etc etc

I see that the young lady in the video is wearing a top with a picture of Jeremy Corbyn - so what ? Can he do anything to stop this - is he a dictator ? If some Rasta does something naughty whilst wearing a Bob Marley T-Shirt is Marley's ghost responsible ? I have not actually watched through the video but I see that is the old theme of Antifa and the EDL, and that the video has something to do with Tommy Robinson himself so I would not expect it to be neutral. I agree about the words Nazi, Racist and Fascist - the second can be used for someone who really is a racist (which applies to nobody on here - I hope) the other 2 are used by some (not on here) as general insults without any real historical understanding. Both are used as generic descriptions for both racists and people on the far right - ironically without the understanding that both were, originally, anti capitalist and far left. The equation Fascist = Racist is also misleading because Italian Fascism(and there is no other) was not racist. There were both Jews and Moslems in the Italian Fascist Party and the idea of nation was a cultural, and not a genetic, idea - modeled on ancient Rome (which had black senators). Italian Fascism was far less 'racial' in its thinking than the British Empire, at that time. However, the word has cottoned on as a generic insult for all those on the right. I have seen eg. Trump referred to as a 'Fascist' on here, I have done it myself, which is lazy - just looking for one word insults which come to hand, rather than long drawn out descriptions.
