SH is doing no more or less than his party Fez, and the Tories are not debating policies at the moment. They are quite happy to descend to the level of personal attacks, aided by the media - so I do not expect their supporters to be any different. Labour's goal must be to make this election about 'policies', but, various studies have shown that the majority of the electorate do not know the policies of the parties. Apparently less than 10% actually read manifestoes - and that is not going to change. As long as the Tories can feed from ignorance they will continue to do so. So sorry that many of your Jewish friends feel estranged from Labour - especially because the Jewish culture has such a rich tradition in supporting socialist causes. For some reason it is almost axiomatic that many on the left automatically feel they have to partly support Hamas - it is a mistake because Israel is, and has been, a far more Socialist state than any found in the west - how many socialists learned their trade on Kibbutzes in the past ? The issue of Israel and Palestine has been dividing those on the left for too long - at the same time Jews must understand that criticism of Israel is not criticism of the entire Jewish people.

I don't think it is Labour policies per se but the fact that Corbyn has "legitimised" Hamas, Hezbollah and the provos in the past. With regard to the Palestinian question I think that both sides antagonise reach other to a point where the right wing Israelis and Hamas want to maintain the status quo... which is disgusting. My Jewish friends are a microcosm of my wider circle: from poor council estates, through the middle classes to multi millionaire business owners... colour, creed and "orientation" of pretty much all persuasions (muslim friends are, school alumni apart, thin on the ground to say the least) and political ideas.
Point of fact to the tories not discussing anything is May's piping up on foxhunting... how is this even a debate in 2017? Odious creature.
As to SH, who knows what his true politics are? Obviously right leaning, that's undeniable. How far right is another matter. I have my suspicions, and they're ugly: somewhere between farage and griffin, on the available evidence and lack of evidence to the contrary.

I thought I would take a look at this board with the GE on it's way. No surprise that nothing has changed, the Liberal/Left clique still holds sway and they OK with anyone who does not follow their political views getting abuse, but when someone pushes back they close ranks. Reason I left:-

Firstly there was no personal attack W_Y, and secondly I do not see Frenchie as being part of a left wing clique - rather closer to the middle I would think. Nobody on here has a problem with right of centre posters as long as they actually debate and do not resort to snide remarks about everything, and everyone, who does not agree with them. I have asked SH. to actually debate ie. to state exactly what 'problem' he has with Labour's policies - thereby laying the groundwork to a real debate, but, as yet, nothing has come back - nor do I think it ever will.

I accept I'm only a guest on this board so I have no real input, I'd just like to say that I used to love reading W_Y's posts on football and was disappoiunted when he disappeared but if he truly cannot see SH for the wum that he is, then I think he's made the right decision to stop posting!
If that is your reaction to us on here then why do you bother with us ? Agree - it was a shame he stopped. He offered far more than just football - music for instance (although his tastes were sometimes 'dodgy'

What personal attack? I was merely making an observation and noting a lack of debate or contrary opinions backed up with a raison d'être and thus postulating on your actual ideological position.
Indeed I have tried my hardest not to make it personal: you have rights; your ideas do not, and neither do mine.
Since taking on the mods job I have had to think about just every single comment I have made on anything like the GE or Brexit threads. My opinions have been muted to say the least. If you agree to do something like this, you cannot say what you feel, but have to look and use your judgement over what someone is saying, and why. I am not a leftie, neither am I worshiping at the feet of the PM, so comments made earlier do not apply.
It seems sad to me that anyone can be so overawed by a politician that they cannot think for themselves, either left or right wing. How often do we have reasoned debate on here when people put forward an interesting idea, and that is ignored, and only a cheap retort is offered as a response? Far too often in my opinion.
If you look at other WFC forums you can see some sad childish comments on anything controversial, while others only allow WFC comments. Nearly everyone on here, despite their diversity adds something to the forum. It seems that if you do not grasp how we all get along despite those differences, then we must all be wrong. To take a view that anyone who disagrees is wrong, is immature at best, but how often do we see this in the people elected to govern? It is time for a lot more people to stimulate the old brain cells.

As you are part of the anti Tory, anti Brexit clique it is understandable that you cannot see the problem. On this forum a small but influential group has limited political views to a narrow banding. No wonder new posters dare not air their views when the clique jump into action against anyone supporting Brexit or the Tories, which according to the votes casted, should be the majority views in the UK.
I am certainly not the only one that has expressed this view, most see the futility of taking on the clique and just leave.
