I have a friend who lives in France and her 22 year old grandson who lives in Sussex suffers from Cerebral palsy. He needs assistance to get out of bed, go to the bathroom, and prepare a meal. Although physically he needs help, mentally he is very bright and a whizz kid with computers. The DWP offered him a job last year working to check records of those claiming benefits who had in fact died, yet relatives were still receiving the money. In his first month he found over 200 cases, and saved the taxpayer thousands of pounds, so he was offered an 18 month contract. From April this year he lost his carers allowance, so can no longer go to work as he needed help to get him there.
Just one actual case out of thousands. If SH liked to put forward a case for this being a good thing, how it should be corrected if he doesn't think it is, or just explain government policy when it comes down to looking after all of our society then he might have a debate. To simply repeat headlines from certain sections of the press is not debating.
