Ha! I voted on Tuesday . . . for city council, school board, and community college trustees. These are the folks that have more affect on the everyday lives of we Americans than the POTUS, but less than 1% can name who represents them, and go out and vote.

Our local politics is hard to stand as its conservative but to the crazy level. As I am, in Cali anyone with cash can get anything on the ballot (with enough signatures, not sure if you know about the prop system). Anyway there was a vote to stop all round abouts in town as they are a New World Order European Socialist Tool and it passed. So now they legally can't build the round about in town and so we have to keep this horrible three way stop that backs up in rush hour,

This fool at the state level is trying to get a prop on the ballot that allows you to kill anyone who is gay.

We had two different votes to break the state up last time regardless of the fact that voting is not how you break up a state according to the constitution.

I could go on, every time you vote here it gives you a headache.

****ing hell. Has this idiot got a name Elle? I wanna google him.

Other than your whining, and crass attempts at posting ****y images and videos, this is a nice, friendly thread discussing one of the most difficult subjects there is online.

If you don't like it, **** off back to CI and post your ****e there.

Think of it as freedom of choice. You're free to **** off.

what a twat

I think you forgot that I am an American. Most of our voting happens in November with some exceptions like Tex's voting on Tuesday.

I never actually knew and has been pointed out to me I should have looked at your profile, it was just a reply to what you wrote, but I am bamboozled with the American electoral system for the White House never mind the comedy that is ours, but apologies for the slip up, gave some people a snigger I believe.

Lawyer Matt McLaughin. He has tried other crazy ones in the past like making the bible required reading in schools.

Making a religious book compulsory reading? Better not mention some that do that otherwise accusations of some kind of phobia will follow,

It couldn't pass and would be tossed out on constitutional grounds. There are other ways that religious people get into schools, it's mainly praying or stopping sex-Ed or stopping the teaching of evolution. My high school wouldn't force us to pray but they put in a min of silence and half the class would get down and pray. We also were not allowed to talk about evolution or how old the earth was, or how the galaxy was formed etc.

He hopes they all die. Which is the same end result.

Does he ****.

Pacquiao responded to the LA Times: "What I said is a reporter asked me about gay marriage…. I am against gay marriage, but I'm not condemning gays," the boxer said in an interview with The Times. "I have family — a cousin — who's gay, and friends too. I'm just against gay marriage. I don't even want to talk about the issue, but I was asked about it, so I gave my opinion."

Do they tell a certain religion they can't have their religious book taught in their schools? We daren't.

That all seems fairly reasonable.

But let me get this right?

There are people in your country who want to ban roundabouts?

FFS how indescribably stupid are they?

As a great poet in the 80s wrote, it doesn't matter who you vote for, the government wins. (That might get a laugh from OLM - NO Maggie Thatcher, NO GOVERNMENT, OI!).

The MPs make the odd decision, no doubt, possibly even drive major policy, but Yes Minister was probably closer to the truth than most people care to admit. The Whitehall mandarins and civil servants have more to do in the actual running of the country.

Talking of Yes, Minister, Sir Humphrey makes it all clear. Comedy genius.
