That's hypocritical isn't it? Focus on what people haven't got? Why not focus on both? And it does matter where you're from! Especially if you've bettered yourself in life? I won't go into figures but I'm doing ok by hard graft! You can't tell me all those work shy bastards on benefits are disabled? Bollocks!!!!

It's about openness and understanding, nothing material.
Even the rich can find themselves destitute with even the slightest of missteps.

Really good interview with Jack Straw on BBC now. He says that the expectation at the campaign commencement would be that they would be lucky to hang on to what they had. He sights 3 things that brought the result. 1. The dementia tax u turn. 2. The I, I, I, I approach to the campaign and not individual policies 3. That she would not engage with supporters and the non debate appearance was key. Also that how much Corbyn enjoyed the meetings something which she is patently not good at.

Labour have gone from no hopers to some hopers.
They lost. Again.
Apart from Blair, it's many decades now since they won an election.
They spunked the nation's wealth, leaving it as usual to the Cons to do the hard yards, restructuring the economy and subjecting us all to austerity.
Not sure it augurs well for the medium and long term future, if the "I want it now" young are already greedy, self-centred and with an overbearing sense of entitlement.

I hope they have lots of decent graduate-level jobs to go to. Over to Corbers and McDonnell with their entrepreneurial wealth-creating experience to create some....**** I forgot they lost.

Sad to see the same deadwood getting elected in Hull. Despite Hull endorsing Brexit. the same deadwood Remoan ****s got re-elected. Schizophrenic voting choice.
We are in the **** now with this lame duck hung parliament. You would hope Corbers would stop acting the **** and back Teresa May against the EU negotiators, but with his history of selfish, anti British voting as a constituency MP over many decades, he will no doubt continue in this vein.
To the delight of Juncker & co.
There's plenty of people of all ages that have a sense of entitlement so don't label it all on the young that you're so envious of.

I really think life swaps would change the face of this country>>>>>>>>>let them eton brigade live on zero hours in a fking depressing job and give a council estate family a chance 2 see good life of the wealthy and see who breaks first.
I didn't think there many less funny political comics than Ben Elton, but we've found one.

It's almost like you can read my mind...
If you've put in the years of graft, saving, **** jobs, doing your bit how you can and when you can, making sacrifices.......maybe just maybe you should be allowed to get summat back?

Trouble understanding the cabinet appointments or lack of changes announced... From what has been said today, it was partly Hammond and Davies that pushed for the snap election and yet!!!!...

Investment banking is just managing finance capital. It doesn't produce anything in real terms. Money's like ****, it piles up and it stinks but if you spread it around, things grow. Trickle-down economics has to be the dumbest thing voters have fell for since Thatcher and Reagan advocated for it.

Well done done after 125 pages and i have have no idea how many posts of yours, something that I can almost agree with.

But why the bitterness??
The young don't have the experience of life that you and I do .

Good post.
That toss pot Boris was asked by Evan Davis a couple of years ago if it's fair at the amount of money that London sucks out of the rest of Britain.
He asked him if it would be better spreading the money out.
Boris disagreed and said it should be piled up like Jam in London then let it spread.
We all know that's a bollox statement.

I think most so called hard working people will work 80 hours on a building site but for some reason don't get the bonuses the bankers get........add 2that the fact bankers can still earn millions of pounds doing a very bad job and I`d say most people would swap theyre life for a bankers lifestyle <ale>

No bastard on a building site I've ever worked on did 80 hours, we were always in the pub by 2.00pm on a Friday. <laugh>

I recommend speaking to people on the streets and finding out how they got there. It would open your eyes at least a little bit.
Yes and there's plenty that don't intend to work and you'd be naive to believe otherwise.
Jesus I've got friends and in laws that are masters at it.
Obvs there's also plenty that will work.

Been a good thread this, not had chance to catch up since this morning so maybe this has already been said.

This isn’t the end of the swing to the left – just the beginning.

This govt is weak and would not last the night in a good year, nevermind in a Brexit year. That poison chalice could destroy the most able politicians and dash the most secure parties.

Labour will benefit from being seen as the credible opposition rather than the joke it was perceived as at the start of this campaign. By the next election (within two years max by the way) Labour will have even more younger voters with the franchise as the movement builds – and without being macabre – more of the Tory vote will have passed on.

So brace yourselves in Scotland, Wales and across England. We'll take more and more ground.

Labour will form the next government.
Aye agreed, it's been a good thread.

Lambo must be even greyer now mind, but I'd also like to say thanks to him, he's done a grand job with a light touch.

Regarding Labour, it's down to who Corbyn selects as his shadow cabinet. More of Abbot, more of McDonnell, and their ilk and I think you'll find they'll remain the bridesmaid.

Andy Burnham, he's the way forward.
