I think you're wrong but time will tell.

I've no idea why Starmer would want, or need, to appease the Greens, the Tories or Farage tbh.

I think he'll have better things to do and his majority/mandate gives him the right to carry it out.

If the electorate is deeply unsatisfied with an action they take, they will amend their stance, political opponents on the left and right will simply harness this to apply pressure for whatever cause their are pushing.

I'm sure we all hope that isn't the case ...

... even if it is, political opponents can apply whatever pressure they like but there's little they can actually do.

The last few years have proved that's the case, the electorate have had to wait for a General Election and would again.

It's not a case of hope, I just feel it's inevitable at this point. I'm past hope.

That's a shame.

Society over large swathes of time isn't linear, there are peaks and valleys, sometimes mountains and catastrophic pits, but if you have only lived during a stretch of time where it has been steady consistently, it is normal to believe it will always be this way. If all you have known is insanity, insanity is normal.

The last few years have been worse, imo, than anything that's gone before ...

... if the next few years are even worse I'd start to worry.

As it is I'm quite content with things despite the disaster of Brexit which has knocked us back imo.

I think the last 50 years have been insane, things unprecedented in human history have happened, as ever though, people can't see the wood for the trees (not you necessarily, just in general).

It's like one of those books of criminals the police get people to go through <laugh>

I'll be playing this tonight with a few drams and laughing as they go down ...

... it would be great to see Rees Mogg cringing as one of the hoi polloi takes his seat.

Got mine printed out, all ready to go.
I'm off tomorrow so could be an all nighter. Mind, the only malt I'll be having is Sarsons, so have one for me mate.
