Seems to me like they are single-handedly dragging the country downhill and eroding good English values like compassion, tolerance, inclusively and progressiveness.

I don't think it'll hurt their ratings much. Everyone already knows what they stand for, especially those voting for them.
The Pride Flag is a symbol of hope for millions of gay people who feel more able than they ever have in this country to be their authentic selves without having to hide part of their identity in fear of judgement. To the vast majority of the rest of us, it's completely harmless and has no impact on our lives.
Reform will use words like "woke", they'll try and equate it safe spaces for women (which is a separate and valid discussion) and roll it all up into the same argument to try and mask the simple and obvious reason they dislike it - because they dislike gay people.
The parallels are remarkable between here and there - the incumbents performing so badly and so oblivious to it that the other side are going to win by default.
It was going to be scary whichever one of them won over there, it's a horrible problem that the American people have created for themselves. The prospect of Biden being the President when he's 4 years older isn't great. But Trump will be worse this time. He'll be looking for political retribution and I don't think it's good news for Ukraine.
And trump won't be held back by wanting to be re-elected in four years.
I can see him absolutely doing some irreparable harm domestically and internationally.
Lots of books have been written about Trump's presidency by people in his team that didn't think he'd get back in. Most of them suggest that he's not consistent enough to do real damage. He flits from one idea to the next and rarely follow things through.
If you wanted to influence policy you made sure you were the last person to speak to him before he decided.

lots of commentators saying he’s finished, others saying poor start/strong finish……actually unbelievable that Trump could well get back in
They are undercover fascists and the irony is that anyone supporting them probably celebrate the win in the war against hitler, probably support Ukraine when Farage is a fan of Putin and probably say he speaks for normal people when in fact his one of the elite. In short people who like him are as thick as manure
