They stink of middle class hummus and cucumber sticks with a glass of pinot grigio. I actually hate Libdems more than Labour and the Tories, something about them rouses my ancestral coal miner genes.
Sort of get what you are saying, but I’m the first male generation in my family not to be either in the ship yards or down the pits. Despite being proud of their jobs, previous generations espoused the benefits of education as a way to avoid those careers. To become educated you need teachers. Can eat and drink what they like for me, rather have a cucumber from the local grocers than a McDonalds.

It's the smug schoolmarm thing I hate, typified by the sort of junior management women who like to tone police. As opposed to the archetypal Tory who at his core is from wealth and as a result is fundamentally different from me, the libdem should know better, sadly I think Labour resemble the libdems more and more these days. Our politics is absolutely fücked, I see no hope for the country in the next decade unless something radical happens.
Lost me when you are worrying about women being managers mind.

I'm talking in abstractions obviously, the problem isn't cucumber it's who they are innately and what they are aspiring to be, it's not being in education, it's the smarmy attitude and tone policing. You're a smart guy, you can figure this out.

If I could build a PM, he would look like this:

-Looks like Sean Bean.
-Northern accent, a clean one mind, wouldn't inhibit him when on international duties.
-Tall and physically fit.
-Aged between 40-50.
-Had a amateur boxing record with several KO victories.
-IQ of 140+
-Verbally gifted in debate.
-Had a real job when young as well as intellectual endeavours ie author, writer etc.
-Isn't afraid to give his political opponent what for.
-Is a socialist but also a nationalist and loves the country.

I still can't believe how people fall for the immigration argument. There are 2 aspects to this. 1 is the Russians are generating increased migration because right wing government's and media are feeding the narrative "it's all the fault of the immigrants" and 2 because right wing government's such as ours are trying to deflect their own woes and generate a dividing line that resonates with certain voter's who fall into the trap of blaming immigrants for the faults of our own government. Yes immigration is a problem but only because we are making it one as a political tool through intentional underfunding of border forces, closure of safe routes that would take immigrants straight into processing centres and a botched brexit deal that took away our right to return illegals who lose the right to stay

I'm not sure about this, I mean if the Tories wanted to get reelected all they really had to do was stop the bulk of migrants coming in and perhaps sent some that are already here, back to their home countries, it could have been easy for them really. You have to ask why they have constantly overseen an increase in immigration when almost all polling data shows it is unpopular. It's a head scratcher.

Tories waste billions on PPE contracts to their mates which goes in the bin - Covid's fault.

Sunak makes a **** up by not insuring against interest rate rises and costs the country £11bn - Brexit was always going to be hard.

Global financial crisis which sent banks worldwide under - Labours fault.

Not as cut and dry as that but the national debt is approximately £1 trillion higher than it was at the start of this Conservative government and all services have been cut at the same time. The idea that they're fiscally responsible is absolutely laughable.
Boom boom bang bang

I’ve always been Tory. But since Cameron left it’s been an absolute **** show.

Labour will get in and will probably somehow do worse whilst absolutely skinting the country as they always do.

This outcome of this election will be impossible to celebrate no matter which robbing set of politicians take the podium.

Jesus are you fùcking serious ?
The last 14 years have been the worst government in history.
Including the pig ****ing Cameron.
They've sold us down the river .

You could see a doctor or dentist virtually straight away before these ****ers got in.
NHS waiting times were weeks not years FFS.
They blew billions on friends fake companies during covid whilst partying and stopping us attending funerals etc. I could go on.

Starmer is a puppet and a stop gap but fook sake. Give your head a wobble, there's a massive tit on it.

I've had connections with immigration services for years, trust me they have intentionally created this issue by stopping processing and not negotiating returns deals like we had in the EU. Then they have claimed the immigration issue as a dividing line between them and Labour and stoked a culture war. This all stems from a rise in popularity of right leaning, populist voter's leading to the referendum. They felt it was the next big thing so needed to jump on the bandwagon. Unfortunately for them it has backfired due to the failures of brexit, and voters leaning towards closer ties with EU again but they can't go back now so are doubling down. They have known it was a mistake for the last 3 years but no one can say it

I've always thought there was a tory narrative to worry the population for things they've messed up, to then say it would be worse under labour.

At the moment im leaning toward the lib dems
Me too but I honestly think the Lib Dems lost their shot at power by getting in with the tories. Until then and since I've had a respect for their policies but they have really lacked good leaders who I can get behind.

Could say the same about Starmer but my one and only hope is he has intentionally said very little in terms of policy or attack lines as it has been so easy to watch the tories implode and do the work for him. Plus any policy announcement he makes the tories have stolen in recent years or the likes of the Mail or the Torygraph have viscously attacked so best say nothing.

Once in power we might see a different side to him, a stronger and more confident decision maker.

Just shows how **** politics is in this country though when that's the choice

It’s easy to improve nhs waiting times by employing more doctors, the problem is they cost money.

The way Labour overcome that is borrowing money, it works in the short term but the long term effects are catastrophic to the country.

We will soon find out, or will we, I only believe one thing, it will be a long time before we see a Tory government again, but who or what will be in government is a mystery. I prey that in the Labour manifesto it promises to go after all those who stole the cash, might even get my vote then <laugh>
When you read Nig’s post it’s hard to understand how anybody could ever vote Tory again.
