PhilI would have fired one shot maybe two, and I would have hit his shoulder and arms or legs, he was close enough to have done that as a trained officer in the use of a firearm, after all the video shows the office at 3 feet away from the open car door, 7 bloody shots are indefensible regardless of the background and circumstances, it is way disproportionate in my view..........![]()
No one fires a weapon with the intent of wounding ,that's only in films I'm afraid ask yourself this , in that split moment which arm would you have chosen? or which leg and why ( there's very few recorded incidents of someone holding a hand gun with their feet )
One round can kill a person so one or 7 into the torso ?, he could have shot him in the back of the head , now that would have been seen as an execution .
Yes it does sound disproportionate but the effect could be the same , a dead or severely wounded person. He's still alive so that being said he could still have shot the officer even with 7 rounds in him ( it was 4 which hit him) At the end of all this perhaps Jacobs and many others should consider they actions before putting them selves at the risk of events like this happening but no its never their fault .
If the copper is proven to have acted unlawfully then he should in a civilised society being punished , the trouble is the anarchy we're seeing currently in the US ( and to some extent in the early summer in this country) then all laws go out of the window which imo is exactly what BLM and other maxist groups want
As Mary T. Lathrap once wrote:
" Just walk a mile in his moccasins
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse.
If just for one hour, you could find a way
To see through his eyes, instead of your own muse"

I believe he was tasered prior to him reaching the car , there is an image floating around purporting to be him carrying a knife prior to reaching the car so maybe the cop show this and was waying up his options .I don't know if there are voice recordings ,that may have indicated to the copper Jacobs intent . I agree he should never have got as far as the car as the police appeared to have been slow to react , a K9 would have been another option but it wasn't there so basically it was down as most things are in these situations a personal decision , you can train as much as you like and bear in mind a large percentage of beat coppers never have to deal with situations like this but training can never completely replicate real life.
