It won't be stopping anytime soon (if at all). 2020 - the year everything changed (or just became obvious what direction humanity was taking).
If you think about it society has always been fairly radically changing throughout history. We've had a good stretch since the sixties but now it's over. The loony totalitarian phase is well under way.
