Two more years of bloody Joma crap.
I haven’t bought anything in the last 3 years as it’s been so meh.
And to think I was worried we’d end up with Macron.

Just reading an article about people's comments on various Cornwall beaches on Tripadvisor. Here's a good one:

WendyAH8 on St Ives: "Hideous, overcrowded, noisy, covered in litter. Why would anyone with any sense want to go to this place which is hell on earth? Crowded, noisy, nothing to eat but bad fish and chips and Cornish pasties, and the beach packed full of the morbidly obese, screaming sunburnt children in buggies and people with tattoos. The place to go to see parenting at its worst and cardiovascular disease waiting to happen."

Daimungeezer will like this one, Kennall Vale Nature Reserve near Truro:
"To be honest, it's just a load of old boring rocks on a soggy hill. I thought it would be amazing but there's not even phone signal there."

His Majesty's Revenue & Customs has lodged a winding-up petition against Wigan Athletic over unpaid tax bills, with a hearing date of 26 July.

It follows the English Football League placing the Latics under a transfer embargo last week for breaching league rules on tax payment.

Wigan will begin the League One season after relegation with an eight-point deduction for late payment of salaries.

It also understood money is outstanding from last month's salary payments.

The club has said it is in the process of being sold but one of the interested parties, 21-year-old businessman Sarbjot Johal, failed to gain EFL approval for his proposed purchase of Morecambe earlier this year.

Winding-up petitions can be resolved by payment of debt or by arrangement of a payment plan with the creditor, in this case HMRC itself.

Players come and go, owners come and go, directors come and go - the mainstay is the fan base and in many respects the fans are the ones who are the most hurt in all this <cheers>

Yep, the most hurt, least thought of and generally taken for granted at a lot of clubs.

    Good news:

Wigan Athletic is delighted to announce the following update regarding the Club’s ownership:

A new company backed by Mike Danson has today completed the acquisition of 100% of Wigan Athletic Football Club.

All requisite clearances have been obtained from the English Football League “EFL”. A new board, along with a Chief Executive of the Club will be announced in due course. First Team Manager Shaun Maloney, will remain at the Club.

Funds have been paid into the Club to cover all outstanding debt. All players and staff will be paid immediately, along with other creditors.

The Club wishes to pay thanks to Mr Abdulrahman Al Jasmi and Mr Talal Al Hammad for their commitment to the sale process and for saving the Club from administration back in 2021. Thanks also go to Wigan Council, Lisa Nandy - Labour MP for Wigan - and the Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club.

Thank you to the EFL who have worked tirelessly under strict time constraints to ratify the sale.

I know it’s not football, but since I have got back from holiday I seem to be really struggling with what I think is sciatica, when I stand and stretch my back and leg is ok, as soon as I sit and am doing a bit of part time driving now, I am in absolute agony, can barely get up and the pain round my backside and down my legs is horrific at times. Any one suffered with this and if you have any quick fixes to help. Most people say doctors pointless for back problems. So over to you guys

TLF - try swimming. My wife was told by a consultant that she would probably need an operation.

Did a lot of swimming over the next month and the Consultant called it ‘self help’ - no operation needed. <ok>
