well said Cest. i have seen a few pals come and go because they can't take the responsibility or admit the problem is theirs to sort out. all credit to those who do, as it can not be easy living with such a disease. but resources should go to those who can, rather than those who piss it back up the wall. that is way too disrepectful. Now call me a selfish ****er if you want. The do gooders are trying to raise the price of a unit to a minimum 50p To cut down alcohol abuse. Will this stop the majoerity of abusers? Not a chance. 99% get shafted again while the alco's "drinking themselves to death" get their benefits increased. More tax for the common man.It's a ****ty county this one.

It also kills our pub trade so people like me end up out of work. All putting the price up will do is make people go out and steal the money to buy booze like they do with drugs.

Your right of course. Mine WAS gambling. Thankfully I have (just about) cracked it. So I know about addictions although I never classed it as that. But to right it is.
I am also in the hospitality trade (not pubs/clubs) and it's going right down the pan. not through the people who drink, more so I was getting at was the frigging Government....
however I know people( one time friends) who have 12 cans for breakfast and are in the pub for 12 and they get extra benifits to do it....plain wrong.....
AS this thread is about Gazza. i have met him many a time. When in his prime...out with his dad and mates....pissed, and more recently when he came into my place with a back pack full of cash and just emptied it on the counter and wanted nothing but alcohol...this guy (defo not want anyone wants) is going to go 30 odd years before he should. he's not beyond help, but he needs to be the one who gets it going...........and quick.
