I hear what you are saying Dennis but how long and just how far will they go before the council acts.

Don't forget the Allams are rich enough to have a legal team who are very smart and able to read and understand the SMC lease agreement, on the other hand lets just say the council members are not the brightest buttons in the box.

Cheers
So permissive routes are effectively the same as public rights of way, but tend to be closed once a year so they don’t become rights of way by 20 years of continual use

Can that be done through land that’s inhabited by a tenant?

I used to work at Tata Steel, Den - we had a permissive road running from Santon to Scunny town centre, it was always closed once every year for 'essential bridge inspection/maintenance'. We gave the people living at Santon plenty of prior warning and despite much grumbling every year they had to suck it up and drive miles round.

Military roads are sometimes permissive roads and the gate is locked for one day a year

The members do not decide what’s legal or not.

The lease is what is written, people often understand those words differently and then it is up to a court to decide what and who is right. Not always but sometimes the better your legal team the better your chance to show to the court that your understanding of the agreement is the right one. Many were shocked that the Allams won the Airco Arena case, should the council have gambled even more of the local tax payers money?

What’s the motive for the Allams to keep antagonising just absolutely everyone. They are at odds with all elements of the community. The council own the stadium and that’s a fact. The SMC should not be used as a stick to beat the owners. The owners by default are the people of Kingston upon Hull. They should take the gate down and put the bloody signs and the fittings back where they came from. Time for the council to act and take back some control. Honestly if they hate this city that much then sell the club and move on. Who needs this continual spoiling that they engage in.

I think Jim says it quite well in this week's Amber Nectar podcast (go to 35:45).
