Until the last game I've been quite underwhelmed by him. Against Chelsea he displayed huge signs of promise. Problem for me is, he should have shown those signs months ago but didn't, so, I'm unsure at the moment.

He should get a start in at least our next game, and I'd say it's up to him to show what he can do, but just as importantly, show he wants to over the next few games.

I'd also like to add the way N'Doye prefers trapping the ball then dribbling around and through players with it, rather than heading it or long balls is a joy to behold.

I think he's a quality player.

He's showed glimpses of class. But Sunday was his best game by far.

He has this fantastic ability of being able to take the ball underpressure or in tight situations and beat his man and then pass the ball.

If we can get him for £7m ish and his wages aren't stupid then I'd take him.
 
What kind of system did he play in in Italy bum? Because he looks the typical number 10 to me but has suffered from playing deeper in midfield or out wide without proper support on the wings for him to use.

As I've said, I don't think it's any surprise his first top notch performance coincided with his first appearance in his proper position in a formation that suits him.

He was an attacking midfield floater, either behind a 1 or 2, looking to find the space between the lines and split the opposition defence. He definitely isnt one to have out wide, he needs to move to where the space is. He's an intelligent footballer, think Nick Barmby but better at set pieces and in the air.

I know that I mean did he play in a 5 at the back system like a lot of teams do in Italy? Or more in a 4-2-3-1 like Saturday?
 
I don't think we should sign him. He doesn't really add anything to the squad and with FFP restrictions we need to look at shifting a fair few players out before we bring any in.

GK- McGregor, Harper, Oxley, Jakupovic

RB - Elmo, Rosenior, Lenihan
LB - Brady, Robertson, Rosenior, Figueroa, Dudgeon, Townsend
CH - Dawson, Chester, Davies, McShane, Bruce, Maguire
MID - Diame, Livermore, Huddlestone, Snodgrass, Meyler, Ramirez, Quinn
FWD- N'Doye, Jelavic, Hernandez, Sagbo, Aluko, Ince

It really is a huge squad.

For me all 4 GKs could go
Maybe lose 1 centre half, a couple of midfielders & Sagbo, Aluko & Ince.

Effin 'ell, I watch a lot of Italian football but I cant remember the formation that Bologna played every week.

And a lot of teams in Italy dont play 5 at the back. I can only think of Juve under Conte which was more of a 3-5-2 anyway and they dont even play that this season.
 
To climb out of the 'relegation battlers' group in the Prem we have to constantly upgrade with players of stronger technical ability. Otherwise we will just be a tough to beat , workman-like team that always struggles.
Gaston is the type of player we need to progress and naming no names some honest, hard-working players will need to move on.

Yes, I enjoyed watching him do that.
 
I think he is a very good player that's finally showing his worth but does he play a similar role to Snodgrass? I just hope he's turning it on as he wants to stay.
