    <doh>

Even the most ardent hun would point to the fact Boyd never performed in europe or against Celtic. He score plenty against the ****e teams but scored twice in europe and possibly only once or twice against us despite playing against us 4 times a year!

He also elected to join a championship side & look what happened!

The league leaders are uninvolved. OK. Chelsea were presumably nothing to do with it in the Zola days and when Abramovic took over.

I'm not denying the EPL has far more financial pulling power than almost every other league - the point is ALMOST. Of course it's wrong but football clubs all over the world spend far too much because finance in football is corrupt as ****. That's why Scottish football is skint, why Chelsea have the same debt levels as struggling African countries and owner turnover is absurd all around the place. Point is if someone **** like Aruna Dindane can go "**** this I'm off to Qatar" then far fewer players would enter the EPL.

What's wrong with that? Would you rather they joined the likes of Bolton, Sunderland or Wigan and looked back on their careers and remember all the trophies they never won?

When Hooper is an old man he'll (hopefully) be able to tell his grandchildren about all the trophies and medals he won playing for Celtic. What stories would he tell his grandchildren about his time at Southampton? How his winning goal against Aston Villa staved off relegation for another year?

At this moment in time, Celtic FC would comfortably beat Southampton FC.

    I'd say, 2-0!

Lets push for a friendly during the summer!

The last real top quality player they had in the SPl was Larsson.

He's the top scorer only because he played in the SPL for TEN years.

Give Hooper ten years in the SPL and he'll easily outscore Boyd <ok>

Joe Ledley ambition: "**** I'm a good Championship player who would probably be quite good in the Prem, I'm young and improving... **** it, I'll go win trophies now in Scotland"
Antonio Valencia/Gary Cahill/Ashley Young/etc ambition: "**** I'm a good Premiership player. Could cash in and move abroad for megabucks, no point playing for Wigan/Bolton/Villa where I'm never gonna win anything... wait, this is a league where I can show what I can do, I'm gonna keep working really hard to improve my game and make it to a big team"

Why would Hooper do that? If he doesn't join us this window (I highly doubt he will) then it won't be long until he does bugger off to the EPL.

So you're saying it's best to compete at the lowest level at which you are the best.

    Celtic are the special olympics.

Not claiming bias or anything huns were already about 3/4 up in this game just a memory I have

Leldey could have eneded up at Stoke!

Next year, he may have Champions League football (SPL winners this season have automatic entry) to play in!

    Know what I'd rather have!

Again - they didn't move for money?

What league do you get more money in than the English?

Without googling ... A guy called Lambert and that's about it.

Name the last famous Southampton player I've heard of... Le Tissier!

Probabably the same for the Southampton fans tho (re Celtic) - they probabaly only know Hooper (and Larsson)!

If uefa (or is it fifa?) have their way, cut down the english league to 16 teams and give half of them european football, I think your advantage int he transfer market could disappear.
