check out the skill at 5:01-5:06, lovely touch to beat the fullback.

He loves his funny step-over then pass trick lol.

Looks fantastic in the build up but v wasteful in final third, much like jonas really. However, at 22 he has time to develop this side of the game, which is often the last piece in the jigsaw with wide players and is the difference between Valencia/Nani and Obertan atm.

I think he's a good signing for us. As has been said, will be a better PL player than Routledge. He fits our current transfer policy; young, in the £3M-£5M bracket and he's French. :)
I really don't think he's a bad signing at all. Definitely needs to be given a chance.

I remember a certain Keith Gillespie who was a right winger who we bought from Manchester United - he was good and Fergie really doesn't always get it right.

He's just signed Ashley Young so someone was going to have to make way... Young, Park, Giggs, Valencia, Nani...

I will give the lad a chance. I think with regular football we could have a decent player.

His head scares me. Luckily in a team consisting of Shola and Best he can borrow some hats occasionally.

To be honest we are willing to give random people from barcelona a go just because they're from barcelona. Whether we like it or not man u are the barcelona of the english game and to not make it in their team doesn't mean they have to be ****e.

Having said that never really seen him play for longer than 5 mins so he could be a walking bag of balls nailed to a turd for all i know!

Jeez guys. Calm down. Give the lad a chance!! He's 22, quick, skillful. Clearly he needs to work on his game but at the very least he's worth a gamble. Fergie obviously saw some potential in the lad and the fact he made over 50 appearences for Bordeux and is only just 22 tells you he was thought of highly there. Man U just have to many players in that position and aren't prepared to risk their title hunt by starting a lad who is young and needs first team football to improve. I understand the negativity at the moment but it really hacks me off sometimes the way we seem to just immediatly jump into that kind thinking about a player that we really know very little about.

    This, pretty much.

Over the years, for one reason or another Manchester United have released players and they've gone on to success elsewhere. Dion Dublin, Ben Foster, Diego Forlan, Keith Gillespie, Tim Howard, Giuseppe Rossi, Phil Neville and Gerard Pique to name but a few. So leaving Man U doesn't necessarily spell failure, it's just that this player doesn't fit into their plans, which is fair enough considering where they are at relative to where we are.

And re: the winger not a striker argument, I'd imagine that Obertan, Marveaux, Ben Arfa and even Cabaye will end up playing in the hole behind Ba/Shola/Best this season - although I think we will sign a striker. This means that even if we don't bring a frontman in before Arsenal we'll have options to run beyond the striker as part of this more 'fluid' 4-2-3-1 formation that keeps getting mentioned.

Is this being reported in any more reputable sources? I feel better about the deal having been on the Man United board though:

  17. He doesn't look too bad -

Quick, some good passing. He's probably better Raylor, Guthrie, Ferguson ect. Not as good as any of our first team though, but good back up i suppose for the right price.

Great signing prefer Obertan to Barnetta only 22 great potential and with a regular run of games his confidence will be back and the great performances he showed at bordeaux and France U21 why Man Utd brought him.

We should be supporting every player that plays for us not write them off straight away.
