I suspect that De Ridder is carrying a bit of a niggling injury and may not be good for a full 90 at the moment.
Looking at the latest 'downbeat' article on that link he says promotion is a 2 points a game average. QPR got 88 points from 46 sides so unless he likes to round things off it ain't right. its 1.91. to be champtions and less for 2nd etc
On De Ridder, he reminds me a of Guly a year ago. That is, I don't think he has adapted to the Championship yet. The reason Guly starts ahead of him is that Guly puts in a defensive shift, de Ridder doesn't do a lot of tracking back which is why we have mostly seen him up front in the last 20 minutes to change the pressure on the oppo defense. I am guessing it is because he didn't have to do too much of that in Holland. Give it until Christmas and I think we might see more of him troubling a first XI spot.
I actually think de ridder has a lot of quality is exciting as as people have previously said not fully adapted to the English game and believe it or not the team! Southampton are playing some really slick passing football and I think de ridder dare I say it might be a little on the greedy side, I don't mean this from a "shoot at every opportunity" sort of way but more of a "beat the man down the wing, cross it near the byline" way. Think another month or so and we could see some excellent things from him, he could be a vital cog this season! Think our whole team and bench is oozing quality!
