With the situation with Lallana and the feelings on how he left I wondering in all your time of supporting Saints how many other players etc that you think went from Hero to Zero. One for me was Dean Richards when he went to Spurs soon after signing a new 4 year deal, A real shame what happened to him after leaving Saints and I would not wish that on any former hero. R.I.P Dean

That's quite interesting, a good question. I can't think of one, other than Twatbeard [see, I still can't call him...] but I know there's been one or two others. I think Mick Channon going to Man City put me in the dumps with him, even though his move was understandable. Inevitably, he saw the error of his ways, and a reformed person is almost better than one who has never gone through it. So Channon went from Hero-Zero-Hero. :)

Osgood went from small hero to Hero. Keegan went from Hero [I always admired him from afar] to Super Hero and I didn't mind him leaving either really. Once I got to the 90's football didn't really affect me so much, and Matty did all the right things. Shearer could be classed as a bit of a hero-zero, but I missed much of his Saints career anyway. Martin Chivers maybe.!?!

Definitely Martin Chivers.

For me it would be Chivers and to a certain aspect Alan Shearer. Dean Richards could also come into the reckoning except he didn't do Spurs much good, also I have a certain sympathy as to what happened to him.

Steve Williams to Arsenal. He is still my childhood hero though.

I liked the way that he got sent off in his first game back at The Dell.

Didn't he come back to Saints although for a very short spell? Can't see anything on wiki but I seemed to remember hearing it somewhere unless it was a trail.

Redknapp certainly fulfils the zero criteria, but then he was never a hero in the first place. Come to think of it, zero flatters him.

Shearer. Specially after watching the documentary about him. He said he left as we were a selling club and always will be. Which means we will never achieve much.

He spent two mins chatting about us and came across as bit of a dick head.

Steve Williams to Arsenal had me kicking the cat.
Think I'm mentioned that I went to private night with Laurie Mac and Matty a few months ago and Laurie said he had lost touch with Stevie Williams until early 2015 when he got a call from Stevie saying that he had heard that Danny Wallace was in a bad way and said that they had to try to help him. Laurie said that unbeknown to anyone, Stevie had sent a team of his own builders up to Wallaces Manchester home and completly adapted it for disabled use, he went on to say Stevie was a cold fish that had upset a lot of the older pros. but had a heart of gold. Can't imagine to many millionaire Premier league superstars doing such any act of good these days?
