You do realise Scott is a Rafa signing. He set the wheels in motion for the move

What say you now ACS? <laugh>

Fake news.
Part of the reason Rafa left was lack of control over signings.
This signing was above his head but it took Bruce being on board to get it over the line.
They are both **** players and we literally have just stuck our hand into the lucky dip saw dust to try to pull out a gem.. yet pulled out a turd.
There will be more **** to come from Bruce.
He's a bigger clown than Ashley....

gain stocked in the wing positions and I've seen less from him than Murphy (Murhpy as the Chinese like to call him) or Aarons in a B+W shirt and both have way more potential.
5: Colback - if playing 2 CM's he is surplus to requirements and I'd rather keep Saviet as he seems a bit more versatile.

Personally, I would get rid of the following and look for replacements

Rob Elliot
Karl Darlow
Ciaran Clark
Dummett
Manquillo
Yedlin
Lazaar
Sterry
Hayden
Aarons
Atsu
Colback
Murphy
Saviet
Kyle Scott (loan)
Dwight Gayle
Muto

I think that would free up some room for some new signings.

If you created a league between the championship and the premier league, it would be the perfect place for most of these players.

the funny thing is, I keep looking at when these players are out of contract, because half of them have been there 3/4 years and theres only a handful out of contract next summer.

Like who actively kept giving these players extented contracts? Like Dummet it here until the summer of 2022, Clark 2021, it's absolutely insane

Dummett is easily one of our best players.

Elliot is easily good enough as 3rd keeper.
Clark and Hayden are good players.
Gayle, as it stands need to stay as we don't have many options.
Muto should be given a chance.

I assume you are taking the piss with Dummet, the number of players he's had in his back pocket would suggest he's easily good enough. I can't understand the people that don't rate him.

Aarons, more in hope than anything, may still come good.

Good luck getting rid of any of the others, presumably people aren't banging at out door to sign them

I know Dummett is a defender and as such he's primary job is to defend, which I would probably concede he does adequately as a squad player (prone to giving penalties and free kicks away). My main frustration is his inability to kick a ball or dribble. He has to be one of the most technically adept football player I have ever to grace English football. I would say a good 60% + of his clearances go off the field for a throw in. His pass completion must be absolutely awful (Which has made me look it up)
https://www.whoscored.com/Players/112009/History/Paul-Dummett
Average 33 passes per game with a 72% completion rate. so roughly misplaces 10 out of every 33 he plays each game. nearly giving the ball away once every 3-4 passes. Half those passes are top another CB or to the GK, so basically anytime it goes forward.

Alongside Hayden :bandit:

Not for me but easily good enough to be part of our squad. As I've said you put a quality ball winner in alongside Longstaff, then have Shelvey and Hayden competing with them, I think that is a terrific midfield quartet for a club of our standing. Why Hayden is on Sam's list I'm not sure. But he has Dummett on there too so it may be tongue in cheek.

I suggest you check out Mr Schar's stats, I assume you want rid of him too <whistle>

The dangers of using stats instead of your eyes. Dummett was stellar at centre back. I would say his level drops a bit at left back due to his inability to offer much going forward.

Bit harsh on Scott.

Hes **** dont be fooled

<laugh> I'm sure you suffer from negativitis.
Every article that I've read on him says he has the makings of a good player.
Maybe if we spent £20m on him, it would make you happier.
Have a little faith in the lad.
Steve Bruce has a good record of bringing young players through - Robertson / Maguire.
