Still have to many players this season - Chris Holt put out the following: please log in to view this image So we have 29 for a 25 man squad. Obviously we are all delusionally expecting 2/3 more through the door but can't see it personally with under 2 weeks to go now but lets say N'soki and Maxim come in so call in 6 need cutting. Who goes and why from that list? For me: 1: Elliot: Good servant done well for us but obviously down the pecking order unless Woodman goes out on loan 2: Clark - stocked at CB and I'd rather play Dummy at CB if playing 3 at the back. 3: Lazaar - Ritchie and Dummett can cover there as well as Manquillo and possibly N'Soki so don't see the need to keep him hasn't shown anything while here to suggest he's a PL player. 4: Atsu - gain stocked in the wing positions and I've seen less from him than Murphy (Murhpy as the Chinese like to call him) or Aarons in a B+W shirt and both have way more potential. 5: Colback - if playing 2 CM's he is surplus to requirements and I'd rather keep Saviet as he seems a bit more versatile. 6: Choice is a difficult one but I'd look at loaning out Sterry or the new lad Scott who otherwise would have to be registered and probably not get much of a look in. Let Shola earn his money as loan coordinator.
Those two nobodies we’ve just signed are the two Bruce was mentioning. Our business is done. No Big name signing will happen. We know how the story ends.
Turner and Scott confirmed today - Turner is eligible for U21's but Scott misses out by 9 days so would be an overage player in the U21 squad
Clark can play anywhere in the back 4 so I'd keep him, cull the midfield Atsu,Colback, Aarrons & Saivet. The 2 young lads I'd keep for them to gain experience and who knows they could be 2 more Longstaffesque finds.
Upto the age of 21 as long as they are 21 or younger before the 1st January that season, otherwise they need to be registered So for example Turner the GK we signed today (20) turns 21 in February so is eligible this and next season without having to be registered as his 22nd birthday will be after the cut off whereas Sean Longstaff will turn 22 in October this year and therefore needs to be registered for this season.
Two nobodies is a bit harsh. Two young lads with international pedigree at junior level signed to improve the squad. Quite pleased we are making signings like this. Lets see where we are at the end of the window. I think we are two or three signings away from a really positive window.
Is Aarons still alive? I hadn't heard about him for years and assumed his fragile little body had snapped to pieces. He's gotta be the first one to ditch, then Elliott (way down order now) then Manq. Kyle Scott will be in youth team this season.
How exactly can you have seen more of Aarons and Murphy in a B+W shirt than Atsu. The have played about 10 games between them. I'd like Murphy to be given an opportunity though.
