Its good for me... Jabel Ali is only 30 minutes up the road for me...unexpected opportunity to see the lads..
It's a stupid decision, given how easily it will be twisted by uninformed people to score some cheap points. It's clearly not even a remotely similar situation to being owned by the Saudi state though. The idea that everything and everyone in Saudi Arabia is evil/corrupt is obviously nonsense as well.
Just a question that jumped out at me straight away in that article - why would you scold your privates with boiling water? Did they do something wrong? I thought with Kevin Kyle dropping boiling water on his crouch he would SCALD himself!
All to do with Uruguayan and Saudi politics and absolutely nothing to do with football. However, this is how it could all start. I've said from the off, I genuinely think we will get some kind of takeover like Newcastles. Not along the lines of wishful thinking, but a Uruguayan politician that owns 30 percent of a football club in England with a set up Premier league ready, in a room with a Saudi representative, and the conversation doesn't lead onto football and what's happened with Newcastle? I'm probably miles off, however, our football team is playing a Saudi side in a mid season Friendly, I mean, what are the odds.
What do we stand for and how does the fixture go against it? I'm really surprised how many of our fanbase are triggered by the mag ownership. I don't need a fanzine to tell me how I think as a supporter, I'm able to tell right from wrong and I'm not going to lose sleep over some sad bastard Newcastle fans attempting to compare completely different situations to try and claim some sort of internet victory.
So sunderland have arranged a friendly during the world cup break. It gives the players chance to get some real game exercise and possibly some of the injured lads a way back to match fitness. I personally don't give a feck be it against a Saudi Arabian side or south African.
Not comfortable with this at all. Especially present climate with world cup issues around human rights in the media etc, massive PR own goal dont beleive for a second we couldnt have found someone else to play
That's it, some people care and some don't but there was no need for it to be an issue. Plenty of other teams to play and it suggests that the club is clueless about the strong feeling in Sunderland about Saudi Arabia FC.
Not sure if anyone clicked on the RAWA post but there is a fair few saying they don't give a ****. Just for a bit of balance, and they say they will feed this back to the club as well.
would have thought that was a strictly a private function, so he wasn't there by mistake he was invited , the reason should start a load of theory's going
Are these our elected officials that were voted in democracy via a public vote? Because I missed that meeting.
