Finished watching the Twin Peaks return tonight (had to stop halfway because my wife fell asleep) and it was great. I like the way it doesn't try to copy the feel of the old show just to please fans. It does its own thing and there's nothing like it.
It's not the closest for us but we like the gallery upstairs and a prezzo's beforehand. Seen any games at the MK stadium?
It was pretty intense at times, claustrophobic even (not giving anything away here). It wasn't what I was expecting but that's probably down to my own pre-conceived ideas. It wasn't the epic I was expecting but I did still enjoy it.
A few Hurley, one of the games my son’s football team were flag bearers when they played Southend Utd. We’re actually from Bedford so its about a 15 mile drive, so not too far.
The Frogs are moaning about Dunkirk. Apparently they don't get a mention for holding off the Germans while our lads set sail. Don't know the history, so it might be frog moaning or a legitimate beef...
I like a good war film. There are some uncomfortable ones like, The Deerhunter, Casualties of War. And some great films like Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, The Cruel Sea, Enemy At The Gates, Zulu. It's a massive list. Hope you enjoy it!
Platoon and Full metal jacket are my top 2 movies ever. Although Saving private ryan has the best start to any movie ever for me.
This film is different mate. I've no idea what my favourite films are. There are films I'll watch a thousand times. My missus said just on Saturday that if I was ever stuck in Groundhog Day and Rio Bravo was on tv, I wouldn't even try to escape! The last 2 Christmases we've watched Its A Wonderful Life over at MK. They show it 1 night a year before Christmas. As long as they're showing it, the 2 of us will turn up year on year, watching that old black and white, holding hands with a glass of wine in the other! Traditions have to be maintained, even if they're new ones!
