Good morning all, I trust we are all well...<ok>

Today see's the start of the Giro d'Italia 2014, and although you may or not like cycling as a sport I would ask you to see where it starts today... In sunny, or most probably wet, BELFAST...!!!

Yes, it starts in Italy near the Adratic sea, oh, hang on a minute am I reading this right, that's Belfast in Northen Ireland...!!! Jeezus, how they going to cycle across the Irish Sea to get to Italy... Could this be the first International Pedlow boat race of its kind...<laugh><laugh>

Next you'll be telling me that the Tour De France will be starting in Yorkshire of all places, oh, err, it is is it...<doh><laugh><laugh>

Good luck to all playing today, as its a no bet banner day today...<cheers>

I trapped in my house in Stranmillis until 12.30 and then from 4.00 until 8.30!

I've just been down the bottom of the street watching a bit of the practice for the time trials later on today...all seems to be teams of eight and not going flat out by any means...very sunny at the minute!...team Sky not through when I left.

Morning, troops. Yesterday I tipped a horse trained by Mr O'Brien and one trained by Sir Mick Stoute and both lost (my first losing advices on the forum, incidentally, after 532 consecutive winners). Today I will do the same but will the result be the same?!? I think we all know the answer to that don't we regular readers. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more...

To my eye CENTURY looks a nice bet in the Dee Stakes given how impressive he looked first time up last term whilst in the badly cut up Ormonde it has to be HILLSTAR. A rose amongst thorns in that heat, methinks.

Good luck, pilgrims.

Im sure you will find something to occupy your mind Dex...:emoticon-0167-beer:<laugh>

popped into the local paddy power shop yesterday and there was this rough egg betting on the cartoon horsies and i **** you not he shouted out at the top of his voice 'will ye whip the ****ing horse'!!<doh>

I like Hillstar but you wouldnt have thought 4 runners round Chester is what he wants, I know Brown Panther didnt go a yard in this last year but that was too bad to be true, he developed into a quality stayer the rest of the season and the vibes seem quite strong about him this year. Should be 13/8 on.

Yeah,Red...pubs opened 2 minutes ago <somersault> and Cutters Wharf is very accessible regardless of the Giro!

Strange race this Ormonde Stakes. The Clive Brittain horse has no chance on the ratings, but she's 32 on Betfair. All her best runs last season came over a trip.

Lord of the dance 25s maybe weighted but could be in with a good shout at a place and definitely wont mind a bit of softness

King Kieren's in his element at the minute so hoping to take advantage of that with Firm Decisions at Ascot 7-15 this evening.

Quite like the outsider Goldstorm 33/1 in the next, be more than a few going for the lead here I think and could set it up for a closer, not badly handicapped if back in form and handling the ground.

Looking at it more and more, I keep going back to Brown Panther, not a big fan of the horse but does have talent, goes well fresh- winning his first 2 runs last year including the Goodwood Cup, wont mind the ground as he has won a couple of times on softish ground and altho he hasn't been since the Melbourne Cup and is closely matched with Mount Athos on ratings- I feel it will be who runs well the best fresh- not whos the most talented- which will be Brown Panther

Booooooooom!!!! <party>

Nott 8.30 Placidia 4/1

Looks like a Lanigan special, Sea The Stars half sister to Tinghir, stepping up to 1m2 off 75, she should have at least 10 pounds in hand but whether she is tuned up I dont know. One to keep an eye whatever she does tonight, betting will probably guide.
