Interesting note from the very honest Ger Lyons' facebook page.

"Romeo is a rogue & if he gets the trip(which he should!) & tries! He'll run well"

The horse in question is 7.25 Dundalk Romeos on fire and is currently a stand out 33/1 with PP. I think a bet at 28/1 W/O the fav on Paddy Power is definitely worth an e/w as Ger is normally spot on

Bluesky9: Agree, think there is a small race in Mudita Moment. After long break, probably not fully tuned-up today but did well to finish third................

Out of 8 races at Newmarket 7 of them resulted in a horse being tailed off, 5 of them being 8f or less and 3 being 6f sprints. Is that not strange?

    Interesting point Ron.

Up until the new whip rules were implemented, that would have been unusual but more and more horses will be subject to less driving and i suspect the post race analysis.."driven half way, stayed on well under pressure final 2f,nearest finish.." will become a thing of the past.

So will horses being ridden to maximise their finishing positon as stipulated under the rules of racing, especially when a lot of races have prize money down to sixth place.

Can you imagine trying to fathom handicaps in about two months time.I would suggest so many coup's are already being planned, but won't be easy to pull off with every future h'cap housing so many "sleepers".

Gonna be a right old head scratcher for punters to say the least!
