Market Rasen if memory serves. Looked pretty darn special.
He did look very good that day but I'm going to risk a go on Ben Pauling's horse here MARTEN (5/1). He looks nicely bred for the game and they like him a lot.

Morning, you types. Sir Michael seems to have found the perfect opportunity for STATUESQUE, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, to finally open her account ‘oooooooooooop’ at Newcastle today (2.20). A perch of 75 on her first run in a handicap seems most fair especially with her opening performance, of ’16, at Salisbury in mind. Statuesque didn’t quite get home over 12 furlongs, last time, and so the step back to 10 of the old furlongs will be just what the old boy Doctor ordered. One would imagine that a victory today would see this well-bred sort slapped on the rump and hastily dispatched to the bred sheds – Statuesque, that is, not Sir Michael. A win would greatly enhanced her worth as a broodmare and that is what connections are looking for today. And I, I say I, think they will achieve it.

Good luck all.

John Hales has a novice hurdler out at Newbury today.

It could be the new AL FEROF? <laugh>

Interestingly he is with Dan Skelton, who might pick up some useful types from Mr Hales going forward.

Really looking forward to seeing Jenkins here - one of my Stable Stars and I think he has a huge future. Lots of support for Bags Groove though. Should be a fascinating race.

I've been tempted into a bet here on Winner Massagot - has apparently schooled really well over fences and his mark looks OK.
