    york,2 25: LONSDALE CUP

well, there might be no logical reason to a reverse in form between DEE EX BEE and stradivarius, but,on the other hand, every race is different, and i really hope, mark johnstons tough as teak inmate will go well again today.

It seems folly to go against Stradivarius but Dee Ex Bee is a solid rival who may topple the favourite one of these days. I just have the feeling Dee Ex Bee might find it all falling into place today and at 7/2 I decided to double him with Threat in the Gimcrack. It seems a modest renewal in terms of class and Golden Horde ran well enough in the Morny to make Threat the one to beat today.

Pistoletto would be a typical O'Brien horse to bounce back from disappointment at decent odds but despite the Timeform preview guy's lazy assertion that Aidan is "Having a good spell" the stable are actually 4/58 and less than 7% this past fortnight.

2.25 York Dee Ex Bee 7/2
    3.00 York Threat 6/4

    Win double.

this is all about THREAT here.ive backed him in royal ascot, where he ran a blinder, and even his next start was just as good,if not even better still,as the form is working out really well.decent shout.

just a quick look to the nunthorpe:

a good chance, that the usual suspects will have it to themselves here, but i decided to give EL ASTRONAUTE a chance.its rather a shot in the dark, but i like him a lot,and he has the ability, even if he has a bit to find on official ratings, but with these sprinters, you never know.

Threat looks a worthy favourite in the next but one I'm interested in each way is Malotru @ 16s (5 places). Form is hard to judge, easy win at Chelmsford then a comfortable win at San Siro in a group 3. Goes against my rule of not backing horses on a hatrick and today is clearly much tougher. Probably enough reasons for me not to back it but I'm happy to take the risk and through a couple of quid at it.

The Nunthorpe looks a near impossible puzzle to solve. I'd argue Battash is the best horse in the race but its form in this race puts a big question mark over its head. Ten Sovereigns got it together last time and could be the real deal but I find it hard to trust the yard and would rather take the risk on Fairyland IF backing one of theirs. The most consistent horse has to be Mabs Cross and is the one I had in my scoop 6 (went down in 2nd race) but consistency isn't everything and it might not have the pace of his main two rivals anymore. So i'm looking at one at a bigger price to actually put my money on seeing as I can't decide between the market principles and I've landed on Copper Knight 25/1 (5 places) ew. Tough one. Good luck to anyone having a go in it.

    york,4 15:

well, there is always the possibility of a shock result in these races, but,as things stand,it has to be MOLATHAM,after he ran yesterdays impressive winner mums tipple to a neck last time out.this is really strong form, and he should be hard to beat today..

Yeah, I didn’t back the 33s shot (only put it in because my pick was a NR) but had treble on next three York winners. If the 4:50 wins then I’ve had a right day
