I've had serious depression in the past and I considered suicide. Not once did I think about taking anyone with me, nor did I plan to directly involve other people in my decision. Obviously, my case of depression and suicidal thoughts is different to other sufferers, but there's no justification for the co-pilot's actions. None at all.

Bang on with both points. Been there myself and most people who have had depression, or in my case stress, are likely to have had differing experiences. One boss actually tried to lecture me on it - "I had it and did A, B and C so do that and you'll be all right". Very, very dangerous assumption to make.

Greenwings have offered only £70k in compensation to the families of those who lost their lives.

Tight bastards.
Apparently offers have been 'as low as £70k' implying some are higher. However the criteria for determining offers appear to be designed by accountants and lawyers who will be programmed to entertain no sense of fairness or humanity. Compensation is an industry, like many others, aimed at minimising/maximising costs and payouts, a bunfight for lawyers. You may have read this...

But yes, tight bastards.
